To show product names and prices in a YouTube Live promo loop, create a video or graphic sequence with the details and add it to your live production as a media or graphics source in an encoder that supports overlays. YouTube Shopping tags and pinned products are a separate option for eligible channels: they give viewers native product-discovery controls rather than placing your custom design in the video.

Use custom graphics when the exact on-screen layout matters. Use Shopping when clickable product discovery matters and your channel and products qualify. You can use both: graphics present the offer in your chosen visual style, while tags give viewers a native route to product details.
Make a promo loop with accurate prices
1. Confirm the offer details
List products in the order they should appear. Check each name, price, currency, and offer condition against the seller’s current listing immediately before creating or updating the graphics. A price printed into a video is not described by YouTube as synchronized with listings, stock, or later price changes, so it can become stale.
2. Build the sequence
Create a looping video or graphic sequence that fits your planned stream frame. Use readable type and give each product enough screen time to be read. Keep the name and price visually associated, and make any offer terms clear rather than relying on fine print. These are production recommendations, not prescribed YouTube settings.

3. Add it in your encoder
Choose an encoder workflow that supports media sources, graphics, or overlays. Add the prepared sequence as a media or graphics source, or build the graphics in the encoder if it supports that. YouTube says encoder streams can be used for advanced productions and overlays; the exact controls depend on the encoder, so follow its current instructions for adding and looping media. 4. Preview the full stream before the event
Set up the stream in advance and inspect the outgoing picture in YouTube Live Control Room. Check that the loop is legible in the complete layout and on a mobile screen, and test audio, video, and stream health. Use YouTube Shopping tags and pins
Shopping is conditional, not a substitute for eligibility checks. YouTube’s live-tagging instructions allow eligible creators to tag their own products or products from other brands. For products from other brands, YouTube requires the channel to meet Shopping requirements; the product must be meaningfully related to and prominent in the stream, and available through a selected retailer. Viewer-facing availability can also vary by location.
- In YouTube Studio, check that the channel and products meet the current Shopping requirements.
- Before the stream, tag relevant products through the Shopping workflow described in YouTube’s live product tagging instructions.
- During the stream, use Live Control Room to pin or unpin a product. YouTube documents a desktop-only option for multiple featured products to rotate automatically every 60 seconds.
- After the stream, you can also tag products so they appear during replay.
Some viewers already watching may not immediately see changes made to product pins during a live stream. YouTube’s consumer help explains that products may appear in descriptions or product shelves, while live streams may offer a Shopping button and pinned products; some purchases lead to an external retailer. - Verify each displayed name, price, currency, and offer term against the seller’s current source before rendering or updating the loop.
- Preview the outgoing composition in Live Control Room, including the way it appears on mobile.
- Test audio, video movement, and stream health before the scheduled start.
- Open the event from channel or watch pages and a mobile device.
- If using Shopping, check eligibility, product and retailer availability, relevance, pin order, and the locations your intended viewers are in.
