Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →For a Larix Broadcaster stream to YouTube Live, start with a 2-second keyframe interval and choose bitrate for your output resolution and frame rate. YouTube’s H.264 recommendations include 4 Mbps for 720p30, 6 Mbps for 720p60, 10 Mbps for 1080p30 and 12 Mbps for 1080p60. Use a setting your mobile upload connection can sustain, test with representative sound and motion, and monitor YouTube’s stream health during the broadcast.
Recommended Larix settings for YouTube Live
Use YouTube’s encoder guidance as the starting point. The bitrate figures below are YouTube’s H.264 recommendations; they are not a guarantee that a particular phone or mobile connection can sustain the stream.
| Output | YouTube H.264 recommended bitrate |
|---|---|
| 240p–720p at 30 fps, including 720p30 | 4 Mbps |
| 720p at 60 fps | 6 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 10 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 12 Mbps |
| 1440p at 30 fps | 15 Mbps |
| 1440p at 60 fps | 24 Mbps |
| 2160p at 30 fps | 30 Mbps |
| 2160p at 60 fps | 35 Mbps |
YouTube’s guidance also calls for a 2-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed 4 seconds. If Larix expresses the setting in seconds, set it to 2. If it uses a frame count, use the equivalent for the selected frame rate: 60 frames at 30 fps or 120 frames at 60 fps. Those frame counts are arithmetic conversions, not claims about a particular Larix version’s interface.
Choose a bitrate your connection can hold
Resolution, frame rate and ingest codec affect the appropriate bitrate. Higher resolution or frame rate generally calls for a higher target, but a target that exceeds the available upload capacity can make the stream unstable. YouTube advises testing upload speed and choosing a reliable quality for the connection.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Before a real broadcast, run a test that includes the kind of movement and audio the event will have. A mostly static test image may not reveal problems that appear during fast motion or louder audio. During the stream, watch YouTube’s stream health and respond to warnings rather than assuming the configured bitrate is being delivered consistently.
Codec, rate control, transport and audio
- Rate control: YouTube lists constant bitrate (CBR) for encoder settings.
- Transport: YouTube lists RTMP and RTMPS and recommends RTMPS, its encrypted extension. Use it if the Larix and device configuration you are using supports it.
- Video codec: YouTube lists H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1 options. Confirm that your Larix version and device support the codec you select; the bitrate table above is specifically for H.264.
- Audio: YouTube lists AAC and MP3 for RTMP/RTMPS, with stereo audio at 128 Kbps. Its guidance specifies AAC for 5.1 surround.
Why Larix examples may show different bitrates
Gcore’s Larix-specific guide gives service examples of 720p30 at 2 Mbps and 1080p30 at 4 Mbps, paired with a 60-frame (2-second) keyframe interval. These are Gcore examples, not YouTube’s recommended H.264 targets and not universal Larix requirements. For a YouTube stream, distinguish the platform’s ingest recommendations from a third party’s service-specific guidance, then validate the actual result with a test.

Diagnose stream warnings and instability
- Low-bitrate warning or visible quality problems: Check whether your connection can sustain the selected bitrate. Retest upload capacity and lower the output resolution, frame rate or bitrate if necessary.
- Keyframe interval warning: Set the interval to 2 seconds and ensure it does not exceed 4 seconds. If the control takes frames rather than seconds, recalculate for your frame rate.
- Stream health fluctuates: Re-test under conditions similar to the broadcast and choose a more reliable output setting. Mobile upload performance can vary, so a single speed test is not a substitute for monitoring the live stream.
- Codec or transport option is unavailable: The available choices depend on Larix and device support. Use a supported configuration, with H.264 as the basis for the bitrate table above.
Or let it run in the cloud
Larix is a do-it-yourself mobile encoder for a live camera feed. If your goal instead is to keep uploaded videos playing as a 24/7 YouTube stream, StreamNeo runs the loop in the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, then go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; each slot streams at the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start the free day with StreamNeo.
