“Turn off Live Redirect” can mean either clearing the destination on your own stream or stopping other channels from redirecting viewers to yours. These are separate controls: check the stream’s Customization > Redirect settings for an outgoing handoff, or go to YouTube Studio > Settings > Community to manage incoming redirects.
Turn off a redirect from your own stream or Premiere
An outgoing Live Redirect is set on the particular stream or Premiere whose viewers you want to send elsewhere when it ends. YouTube’s instructions explain how to add a destination, but do not specify the exact action for removing one. The available removal control may depend on the current interface, so look for a clear or remove option rather than assuming a particular button or click sequence.
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- Select Content, then open the Live tab.
- Find the relevant stream or Premiere and select Edit.
- Open Customization and locate Redirect.
- If a destination is assigned, check that control for a remove or clear option. If the interface offers one, use it and save your changes.
YouTube describes the handoff as happening after the stream ends: “Once your live stream ends, autoplay will move your viewers to the Premiere or live stream of your choice.” The destination may be a Premiere or another channel’s live stream. YouTube’s Live Redirect help page documents adding a destination, not the precise removal gesture.
Stop other channels from redirecting viewers to your channel
Incoming redirect permissions are channel-wide settings, separate from the destination configured for one of your own streams.

- Open YouTube Studio.
- Select Settings > Community.
- Review the channel redirect permission options and choose the level you want.
- If you use a manually approved-channel list, remove channels you no longer want to permit.
- Save your changes.
YouTube documents three permission approaches: allow channels you subscribe to, allow all channels, or maintain a list of specific channels. Subscription-based permission is subject to your subscription privacy settings. The manually maintained list supports up to 100 channels. The all-channels option cannot be combined with the subscription-based setting or the manual list. See YouTube’s Live Redirect help page for the documented options.
Choose the incoming permission level

Eligibility and what viewers experience
YouTube says a creator sending a redirect needs more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guideline strikes. A channel that is the destination for another channel’s live stream redirect must permit redirects. YouTube recommends telling viewers to wait a few seconds after the original stream ends while their screens reload to the Premiere.

Do not confuse Live Redirect with Dual stream
Live Redirect hands viewers off to a Premiere or another live stream after the original stream ends. Dual stream is a separate feature that creates a vertical stream from a horizontal live stream. Turning off Dual stream does not turn off Live Redirect; YouTube documents it separately in its live streaming instructions.
If you cannot find the setting
- You want to cancel your own stream’s destination: Check the specific stream or Premiere under Content > Live > Edit > Customization > Redirect. The official help page does not confirm a specific remove-button sequence; use the control currently shown in Studio and save if you clear the destination.
- You want to block incoming redirects: Look under Settings > Community, not in the stream’s Redirect customization.
- You are looking at Dual stream controls: Those control vertical-stream creation, not the end-of-stream handoff.
