If your main requirement is an unattended, scheduled video that starts playing on YouTube by itself, StreamYard is the clearest documented alternative to Be.Live. Restream also documents an upload-and-stream workflow for prerecorded events. Be.Live can still suit a broadcast you plan to start yourself: its YouTube scheduling feature creates an announcement, not an automatically starting stream. For a different use case—keeping uploaded videos looping continuously on YouTube—StreamNeo runs an always-on stream from the cloud.
Which Be.Live alternative fits your YouTube workflow?
Choose by what should happen at showtime. A scheduled YouTube event can mean an announcement that you start manually, or a prerecorded broadcast that starts playing without you. Those are different workflows, even when both are described as “scheduled.”
| Service | What its documented workflow does | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Loops uploaded videos or playlists as an always-on YouTube stream from the cloud. | Creators who want a continuous 24/7 stream, rather than a one-off scheduled event. |
| StreamYard | Its Pre-recorded Streaming feature schedules a video to go live at the selected time, even if you are not online to start it. (StreamYard Help Center, “Pre-recorded Streaming.”) | A hands-off, scheduled prerecorded broadcast. |
| Restream | Its Upload & Stream workflow uses uploaded videos to create prerecorded events. | Creators considering an uploaded-video event workflow through Restream. |
| Be.Live | Its YouTube scheduling guide describes an event announcement that still requires a manual start. | Creators who want to announce a broadcast in advance and will be present to start it. |
The documented feature descriptions do not establish current plan eligibility, file-size or duration limits, or prices for StreamYard and Restream. Confirm those details on the services’ current official pages before choosing.
1. StreamNeo: for continuous, cloud-run YouTube loops
StreamNeo is not the closest match if you need one prerecorded event to begin at a particular scheduled time. It is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live 24/7 from uploaded videos: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud keeps the stream running without your computer, OBS, or home connection staying on.

2. StreamYard: for unattended scheduled playback
StreamYard’s official Help Center describes a direct fit for a finished video that should begin as a YouTube livestream at a chosen time without the host being online to press Start. Its “Pre-recorded Streaming” feature is therefore the best-documented choice here for automatic scheduled playback.
Check the studio settings before scheduling
StreamYard says the prerecorded studio inherits settings from a previous studio, including resolution settings. Set and check the studio resolution before creating the prerecorded stream so the event uses the intended configuration. The available product documentation cited for this comparison does not establish current plan eligibility, video limits, or prices; verify them with StreamYard before committing.

3. Restream: for uploaded prerecorded events
Restream’s Upload & Stream help documentation describes uploading a video to Restream storage and using it to create prerecorded events. That makes it a relevant alternative if you want an upload-based event workflow. The documented material does not settle its current storage cap, maximum event duration, plan eligibility, or exact automation settings, so check Restream’s current product information against your event requirements.
Confirm YouTube is ready to go live
Restream’s YouTube connection guidance says the channel must have live streaming enabled. It reports that first-time livestreaming requires phone verification and a 24-hour wait afterward. Treat that as Restream’s documented setup guidance, and check current YouTube instructions if the channel has never streamed before.

4. Be.Live: keep it if you will start the broadcast yourself
Be.Live supports YouTube broadcasting, and its Offline Recording feature can record a broadcast without taking it live. But its YouTube scheduling instructions say a scheduled event is an announcement and does not automatically start playback; you must start the broadcast manually. If you expect to be present at showtime, that may be enough. If your requirement is automatic prerecorded playback while you are away, compare the alternatives above instead.
What to verify before switching
- Start behavior: Confirm whether the service starts prerecorded playback automatically or only schedules an event announcement. StreamYard documents automatic scheduled playback; Be.Live’s YouTube guide says its scheduled event needs a manual start.
- Workflow: Decide whether you need an uploaded prerecorded event, a studio-based production, or a continuous loop. Restream documents uploaded prerecorded events; the available documentation does not fully compare studio production features across these services.
- Distribution: Check current supported destinations and plan limits if you need more than YouTube. Be.Live’s FAQ and Restream’s YouTube connection guide establish destination workflows, but do not resolve all present plan or destination limits.
- Replay expectations: Restream’s YouTube help page says YouTube archives streams under 12 hours. That is a statement in Restream’s documentation, not a guarantee about every current YouTube archive scenario; check YouTube’s current guidance if the replay matters.
- Channel readiness: Allow time to enable YouTube live streaming and complete any required verification before the event date.
- Rights and channel policies: Make sure you have the rights to stream the video, music, and other included material, and review YouTube’s applicable rules. A prerecorded format does not remove copyright or channel-policy obligations.
Costs and practical trade-offs
Compare the total cost for the workflow you actually need, not just a service’s feature label. For StreamYard and Restream, the current prices and relevant plan limits are not established by the cited feature documentation, so consult their official pricing and feature pages. Be.Live may remain the practical choice if you already use it and can start the event manually.
For a continuous cloud loop rather than a scheduled one-off event, StreamNeo’s same-feature-on-every-plan model avoids quality tiers: uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps. One slot costs Daily $0.99 per day · Weekly $2.99 per week · Monthly $9.99 per month · 6 months $49.99 for 6 months · Yearly $89.99 a year. The price shown adapts by visitor location; the first day is free without a card.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a continuous YouTube loop, StreamNeo needs only three steps: upload a video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams uploaded video at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; the Monthly price is $9.99 per month.
