To run animated nursery rhymes as a 24/7 YouTube live stream, prepare a rights-cleared video and audio loop, create a broadcast in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, and send it through an encoder configured to YouTube’s current specifications. Test the full loop before going live, then monitor stream health. YouTube documents a 24/7 broadcast pattern, but that does not provide a built-in looping app or guarantee an uninterrupted stream from a computer you operate yourself.
1. Check that the channel can livestream
Before producing or scheduling the stream, confirm that the channel is verified, livestreaming is enabled, and the channel has not had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. YouTube’s current getting-started guidance also requires a creator to be at least 16 years old to livestream. If the channel is not eligible yet, resolve that first; an encoder cannot bypass a channel restriction.
2. Clear every part of the program
A nursery rhyme being old or familiar does not automatically make a particular cartoon or recording free to use. Rights can differ for the underlying composition, a specific musical arrangement, the recording, the performance, animation, artwork, and any other material in the stream. YouTube’s live-stream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights for the live content, including music rights.
Build an asset record
For each element, record what it is, who created or owns it, what permission or licence covers it, and any conditions such as attribution, territory, duration, or commercial use. Keep the licence and permission records accessible after the stream ends: archived live content may also receive a Content ID claim.

Be cautious with third-party licences
YouTube scans livestreams for third-party matches. A placeholder can replace matched material, and a stream may be interrupted or terminated if the material remains. Even when you have a licence, the rights owner may need to add the channel to a Content ID allowlist for the stream to proceed without an automated interruption. Confirm that with the rights owner before broadcasting.
YouTube says CC BY material can be monetized if the licence grants commercial-use rights, and attribution may be required. Check the actual licence terms; YouTube does not grant permission to reuse someone else’s content.

3. Prepare a loop that works as a continuous program
Assemble the animation and audio into the sequence your audience will receive. Check that the video and sound remain synchronized, that the opening and ending do not create an unintended black frame or silence, and that the transition from the end of the playlist back to its beginning is acceptable. These are production checks, not special YouTube loop settings.
Choose the resolution and frame rate with the finished animation and the upload connection in mind. A static or lightly animated sequence may not need the same frame rate as fast-moving animation, but the encoder output still needs to match the content you prepared. YouTube does not specify a minimum computer model or a preferred looping application for this setup; hardware requirements depend on the encoder and chosen settings.

4. Create the YouTube broadcast and connect an encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and enter the Live Control Room. Create or schedule the broadcast using the channel’s live-stream workflow. Choose an encoder-based stream, which suits a program with animation, overlays, or other produced content.
- Get the stream setup details from YouTube. Use the stream URL and stream key shown for that broadcast in the encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or include it in the video. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube’s stream settings before broadcasting again.
- Set the encoder’s destination and output. Use the server URL and key supplied by the Live Control Room, then choose a supported video and audio codec, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and keyframe interval. YouTube recommends RTMPS; its listed protocols include RTMP and RTMPS.
- Start the encoder and verify the preview. Wait for the Live Control Room to show the incoming signal and check that the preview has picture and sound before starting the public broadcast.
5. Configure video, audio, bitrate, and keyframes
Use YouTube’s current encoder settings as the reference for the selected resolution and frame rate. These are recommendations, not universal minimums; a stable setting your connection can sustain is more useful than a higher setting that repeatedly drops frames.
| Setting | Practical configuration |
|---|---|
| Protocol | YouTube recommends RTMPS. RTMP/RTMPS are listed as supported ingest protocols. |
| Video codec | YouTube lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1. Confirm that the selected codec is supported by both your encoder and the chosen YouTube workflow. |
| Audio codec | YouTube lists AAC and MP3. Check that the encoder is sending the soundtrack you intend, at the same time as the video. |
| Rate control | Use constant bitrate (CBR), as YouTube specifies in its encoder guidance. |
| Keyframe interval | YouTube recommends two seconds and says the interval should not exceed four seconds. |
| H.264 at 1080p, 30 fps | YouTube’s recommended bitrate is 5 Mbps. |
| H.264 at 720p, 30 fps | YouTube’s recommended bitrate is 6 Mbps. |
The two bitrate examples are YouTube recommendations for those specific H.264 formats; they are not interchangeable settings for every resolution, frame rate, or codec. Consult YouTube’s current encoder guidance for the exact combination you plan to use. Set the encoder’s output to match the prepared program and avoid selecting a bitrate that the available upload connection cannot sustain.

6. Test before relying on the stream
YouTube explicitly advises creators to test before starting a live stream. Run a private or otherwise non-public test using the complete planned output, including representative animation movement, soundtrack level, and the loop transition. Confirm that the preview stays synchronized and that the encoder does not report a failing connection. Watch the Live Control Room’s stream-health indicators and messages during the test and the live broadcast.
- Listen for clipping, unexpected silence, abrupt volume changes, or audio that drifts out of sync.
- Watch motion-heavy scenes for stutter, dropped frames, or visible quality problems.
- Let the program reach the end of its sequence and confirm that the intended restart behaves correctly.
- Verify that the right broadcast is receiving the signal before making it public.
7. What 24/7 means in practice
Google’s Live Streaming API documentation describes a channel keeping a 24/7 live feed active while creating a separate broadcast from the same stream. That documents a possible broadcast pattern; it is not a one-click loop feature and does not specify a particular media player, restart monitor, or recovery service.

With a locally operated encoder, the program depends on the complete local streaming setup continuing to run. A computer, encoder, or connection interruption can stop delivery. The cited YouTube guidance does not promise an uninterrupted feed or prescribe a specific recovery procedure, so do not treat a successful test as a guarantee of continuous availability. If continuity matters, decide in advance who will monitor the stream and how the channel will respond to a stopped signal.
8. Troubleshoot common problems
| Symptom | What to check | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube does not receive a signal | Check that the encoder is using the stream URL and key shown for the intended broadcast and that the channel is eligible to livestream. | Correct the destination or key in the encoder, then restart the connection. If the key was exposed, reset it before reuse. |
| The preview has no sound or picture | Check the encoder’s selected source, output codec, and whether the audio track is included. Confirm that the prepared file itself plays correctly. | Correct the source or output configuration and run another test with both movement and sound. |
| Video stutters or the connection is unstable | Compare the chosen output bitrate and format with the upload connection’s ability to sustain them. Check the Live Control Room’s health messages. | Choose a supported setting the connection can sustain, then test again before returning to a public broadcast. |
| Third-party content is replaced or the broadcast is interrupted | A Content ID match may have been detected. A licence alone may not prevent an automated interruption if the channel is not allowlisted. | Stop using the matched material unless the relevant rights are clear. Contact the rights owner about permission and any required allowlisting before retrying. |
| A claim appears on the archived stream | Live content can receive a Content ID claim after the broadcast ends; the archive is still a rights surface. | Review the claim and the permissions for the specific recording, composition, performance, and visuals involved. Keep the documentation with the program’s asset record. |
9. Keep monetization separate from copyright permission
Permission to use material and eligibility to monetize it are separate questions. YouTube’s monetization policies apply to livestreams and expect original, authentic content. Generic, repetitive, or mass-produced programming can be ineligible, and permission to reuse another creator’s work does not by itself establish monetization eligibility. For a nursery rhyme channel, make the creative contribution clear in the animation, arrangement, production, or other original elements rather than assuming that looping licensed material is enough.
YouTube noted a July 15, 2025 update clarifying that its “inauthentic content” policy covers repetitive or mass-produced content. Check the current policy and the channel’s own eligibility status rather than assuming that a 24/7 format qualifies or disqualifies automatically.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you would rather not keep a local computer and encoder running, StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload the nursery-rhyme video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. The service loops the uploaded program from the cloud; it does not broadcast from a camera.
- Nothing has to stay on at home for the stream to continue from the cloud.
- One flat price per slot covers the uploaded quality, up to 4K at 60 fps; there are no quality tiers.
- StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card required; it is one free day per account.
The monthly option is $9.99 per month. The service streams to YouTube only, so use it only if that is your destination. To try the free day, start a StreamNeo account.
