Yes. Indian podcasters can rebroadcast an already-produced episode or playlist as a YouTube Live stream by sending it through an encoder that supports looping. YouTube documents encoder-based streaming, but its reviewed guidance does not establish a native YouTube Studio control that automatically loops previously uploaded videos. You need a looping encoder or streaming service, and rights that cover the episode’s use in a livestream.
How to loop a podcast episode on YouTube Live
The documented YouTube workflow sends a live feed from an encoder using the stream URL and stream key. The encoder or service supplies the repeat or playlist behavior; YouTube’s encoder guidance does not promise to loop an old upload for you. See YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube says the channel must be verified, have no livestream restrictions in the previous 90 days, and the creator must be at least 16. Review YouTube’s livestream prerequisites.
- Create or schedule an encoder stream. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, create or schedule a stream for encoder software and obtain its stream URL and stream key. Consult YouTube’s live stream settings for the available settings.
- Set up the encoder. Enter the stream URL and key, then select the episode file or playlist. Confirm that the encoder can repeat the file or playlist and that its behavior matches your intended schedule; do not assume YouTube will repeat the media.
- Preview before going live. Check audio and video, stream metadata, and that the intended file or playlist is playing. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or share it with people who should not be able to broadcast on your channel.
- Choose a duration with archiving in mind. YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all, and DVR may be limited or unavailable on very long streams. If you need an archive, keep the broadcast under 12 hours and retain a local recording as a backup. See YouTube’s archive guidance and DVR guidance.
Clear rights for the livestream, not just the old upload
You are responsible for having the necessary rights for livestream use and for complying with applicable laws and YouTube’s Community Guidelines. YouTube’s livestream terms include music licensing rights. Review every episode element: music beds, intro and outro tracks, guest contributions, clips, and other licensed material. A licence or permission that covered the original upload should not be assumed to cover repeated public livestream use in every relevant territory.
This applies to podcasters in India as well: the reviewed YouTube material does not establish a special India-specific exception or determine every legal obligation that may apply. Check the terms of your own licences and permissions for the intended use and territories.

Live access and monetization are separate questions
Meeting YouTube’s livestream prerequisites lets an eligible creator use the live feature; it does not guarantee approval of a particular stream or monetization. YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live content. The platform says monetized content should be original and authentic, and its reused-content policy applies at the channel level to material republished without significant original commentary, substantive modification, or added value. Rebroadcasting your own original podcast is different from scraping someone else’s work, but repeating programming is not a guaranteed monetization strategy. Review YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
YouTube says creators in the YouTube Partner Program may monetize live streams. Watch Page ad or Premium revenue also requires accepting the relevant monetization module; eligibility and revenue for a particular stream are not guaranteed. See YouTube’s monetization options.

Choosing a way to keep the stream running
For a short, attended broadcast, a local encoder may be sufficient if it can loop the episode or playlist and your computer and internet connection remain available. For a long-running stream, consider what happens if the computer, encoder, or network stops, and whether the workflow supports the schedule and duration you need. The YouTube documentation establishes the encoder ingest path; it does not verify any particular third-party tool’s looping features or availability.
Or let it run in the cloud

Common problems and what to check
- The stream does not start: Confirm livestream eligibility, then check that the encoder has the correct stream URL and key for the stream you created in Live Control Room.
- The episode plays once and stops: The repeat behavior belongs to the encoder or streaming service. Verify that repeat or playlist looping is enabled there; YouTube does not provide an established automatic loop for an old upload in the cited encoder workflow.
- Audio or video is missing in the preview: Check the selected source and encoder output before going live. Preview the full signal, including audio, rather than assuming the file’s successful playback locally means the live feed is correct.
- The stream ends unexpectedly: Check the encoder, computer and network if running locally. For a long-running broadcast, choose a workflow with a recovery path; YouTube’s documentation does not guarantee a third-party service’s response to interruptions.
- The archive is missing or incomplete: Streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all, and DVR may be limited on very long streams. Keep a local recording and use shorter broadcasts when a YouTube archive matters.
- A rights claim or monetization issue appears: Recheck permissions for every music track, clip and contribution specifically for livestream use. Also review YouTube’s channel-level originality and reused-content rules; an earlier successful upload does not settle either question.
