Max does not offer a standard free trial to most new subscribers. A trial is available only when a particular plan or promotion explicitly includes one, so check the offer at checkout before entering payment details. There is no verified universal free-trial code. To redeem a legitimate Max promo code, use max.com/redeem; to activate Max included with a bundle, start with the partner’s account portal.
Does Max have a free trial in 2026?
As of August 18, 2026, Max’s official help center says most subscription providers do not offer a free trial to new subscribers. A trial may be part of a specific plan, provider arrangement, bundle, or targeted promotion, but its length and eligibility depend on that offer. If checkout does not explicitly show a free trial or a $0 promotional period, assume the subscription will be charged when you sign up. Max’s free-trial guidance explains that the sign-up offer sets the terms.
A free episode or other preview is not the same as a free trial of a full Max subscription. Look for the specific service, duration, and renewal terms shown in the official offer rather than relying on a search-result snippet or coupon page.
Are there working Max promo codes?
Max supports promotional codes, but they are campaign-specific; there is no verified code that works for everyone. A code may be limited by country, plan, billing period, or whether the account is new, returning, or already subscribed. Codes may come from Max or a partner such as a telecom provider, employer, or retailer. Max advises checking the promotion details for account eligibility. Its code instructions describe those restrictions.

Before redeeming, confirm that the offer identifies its promotional period, the price after the promotion, expiration date, eligible plan, and who can use it. Do not treat a code as current or working until Max’s official redemption flow accepts it and displays the offer terms.
How to redeem a Max promo code
For a new or returning subscriber
- Go to max.com/redeem.
- Enter the code and select Apply.
- Review the displayed offer, including its duration, eligibility, and renewal price.
- Select Agree & Continue.
- Sign in to a Max account or create one.
- Add payment information if requested, then start the subscription.
- Check the account details to confirm the promotional price or trial period appears as expected.

For an existing subscriber billed directly by Max
- Visit max.com/subscription and sign in.
- Select Redeem a Code, enter the code, and select Apply.
- Review the updated subscription details.
This account-settings option is for subscriptions billed by Max, not subscriptions billed through Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon, a TV provider, or another intermediary. Some codes also change plans: a code for a higher-priced plan may take effect immediately, while a lower-priced plan may begin on the next billing date. A pending plan change may prevent another code from being applied.
How to activate Max through a bundle or provider
“Activate” can mean claiming a bundle entitlement, redeeming a Max promo code, creating a Max account, or signing in on a device. These are separate tasks: the partner usually handles an included entitlement and billing, while the Max app or website is where you sign in to watch.

Disney+, Hulu, and Max Bundle
For the Disney+, Hulu, Max Bundle, Max’s instructions say to start in the Hulu or Disney+ account area and select the Max logo or activation link. Enter an email address, retrieve the one-time six-character code sent by email, and complete account setup. If the email does not arrive, check spam and filtered folders, confirm the address, and request a new code if offered; use the newest code. Max’s bundle activation guidance also warns that activating a bundle may not automatically replace an existing Max subscription. Check for duplicate subscriptions before completing setup.
Other participating providers
Max subscriptions may be billed directly or through providers that include Apple, Google Play, Amazon Appstore, Roku, Samsung, Prime Video Channels, Xfinity, Cox, Xumo, and other participating providers. Availability depends on the provider and market; a provider listing does not mean it currently offers a trial or discount. See Max’s provider information.

Who bills your Max subscription?
Billing source determines where to redeem some offers, make plan changes, and cancel. On the web, sign in at max.com/subscription; the billing provider appears near the top of the subscription page. In the Max app on a phone, tablet, or computer, select your profile, then Subscription. On a TV device, open Settings, then Subscription. Your bank statement or provider account may also identify the biller. Max explains how to find this information in its subscription guidance.

Choose by how you watch and how long you expect to subscribe. Basic with Ads is the lowest direct price; Standard adds downloads, and Premium supports more simultaneous streams plus 4K and Dolby Atmos where available. An annual plan can be poor value if you only want Max for a short viewing period. If a provider or bundle already includes Max, check that entitlement before starting a separate direct subscription.

A trial or promotional period normally rolls into a recurring paid subscription at the then-current rate, plus applicable taxes, unless you cancel before the next billing date. Max says payment information is required for a free trial that will convert to paid billing unless the specific offer states otherwise. The cancellation route depends on who bills you, so identify the provider first and cancel through that provider’s account or instructions. Deleting the Max app does not necessarily cancel the subscription. Save the cancellation confirmation email or take a screenshot. Max says a canceled trial can remain available until its scheduled end; cancellation does not necessarily stop access immediately. Max’s trial guidance covers renewal and cancellation.
Why did a Max free trial show a charge?
An apparent charge can have different causes. First compare the account and checkout details with the offer you accepted: the offer may have been a discount rather than a trial, or the account may not have qualified. Also check whether another provider started the subscription or whether the promotional period had already ended.
Max says a pending amount may instead be a temporary authorization hold used to validate a payment method. Its guidance says such a hold may take approximately 7–10 days to disappear, depending on the financial institution; that timing is not a guarantee for every bank. Ask your bank about a pending transaction if it remains unclear. Max explains trial-related charges and holds here.
