Bell continues to sell Crave plans and publish current programming information. If you see a “no longer available” message, the issue is more likely to involve your location, device, account, billing route, or a particular title. Crave’s Canada-only availability, the retirement of CTV and Noovo apps, and the loss of support on older Bell receivers explain many reports that the service has disappeared.
Why people think Crave is gone
- CTV and Noovo changed destinations. Bell Media retired the CTV.ca and Noovo.ca websites and apps on May 1, 2026, moving on-demand programming into Crave. That change did not shut down Crave. Bell Media’s announcement explains the move.
- Older Bell receivers lost support. Crave stopped supporting Bell legacy receivers on August 1, 2025. The change applies to those receivers, not to the entire service. Bell’s support page describes the cutoff.
- Billing or account activation changed. A subscription billed through Bell or another partner may need to be activated, linked, or renewed through a different route. An on-screen “subscribe” prompt does not by itself prove the service ended.
- Crave is Canada-only. The Canadian App Store listing says Crave is available only in Canada. App-store country settings and location can affect whether you can find or use the app. See the Canadian App Store listing.
- A plan may not include every title. Bell says some programs are unavailable on ad-supported plans because of licensing restrictions. A single missing show is not evidence that your whole subscription has stopped working.
Is Crave still available in Canada?
Yes. Bell continues to offer Crave subscriptions and bundles, and Bell Media continues to publish programming for the service. In May 2026, Bell Media announced an expansion covering sports, news, live events, podcasts, and programming previously associated with CTV.ca and Noovo.ca. Crave is available directly and through Bell distribution channels, but the exact signup, billing, and activation options can depend on the customer and billing partner. The Canadian App Store listing identifies Canada as the service territory; it does not establish that every account or title will work normally while travelling abroad.
What happened to CTV.ca and Noovo.ca?
Bell Media said the CTV and Noovo websites and apps would be sunset on May 1, 2026, with their on-demand content consolidated in Crave. So an old CTV or Noovo app may no longer be the place to find a program; the intended destination is Crave.

Moving a program does not mean every former CTV or Noovo title is free on Crave. Bell Media said programming previously available without a subscription would remain available alongside the paid catalogue, but individual titles can have different access requirements. Check the title’s label: it may be free with advertising, require a Crave subscription, or require TV-provider authentication.
Why Crave may not work on your TV
You are using an older Bell receiver
If Crave disappeared from a Bell TV box, check the receiver model. Bell says support for legacy receivers ended August 1, 2025. This is a hardware-support change, not a shutdown of Crave. Depending on your setup, you may be able to use a supported smart-TV app, streaming player, mobile device, browser, Bell Streamer, or another eligible Bell platform. Bell’s support page is the place to check receiver eligibility; do not assume a replacement model or price without confirming what works with your package.

The app is missing from an app store
The Canadian App Store listing for Crave remains present, identifies Bell Media Inc. as the developer, and describes current programming. That does not guarantee compatibility with every television or operating system. If the app is missing, check whether your app store is set to Canada, whether the device and its operating system support the app, and whether you are searching for Crave rather than the retired CTV or Noovo app. A temporary store or app problem is also possible.
A title is unavailable, but the rest of Crave works
Check whether the title is licensed for your region and included with your plan. Bell notes that some titles are excluded from ad-supported plans. Canadian rights and catalogues differ from those in the United States, and availability can change over time. Crave markets programming from Crave, HBO, Max, Showtime, STARZ, and other sources, but that does not mean every title is always available or that Max is the same service as Crave in Canada. Why Crave says “subscribe” when you already pay
The prompt can mean several things: you signed into the wrong account, your billing partner’s entitlement is no longer active, an offer expired, or the subscription was not linked correctly. It can also appear if you use a TV-provider login where the current activation flow requires a Crave or Bell Media account.
First identify who bills you: Crave, Bell, Apple, Google, Amazon, or a television provider. Then check the subscription status with that provider and sign into Crave with the email or credentials tied to the active subscription. Bell warns that subscriptions are not automatically transferred or paused in every change of billing arrangement. For some Bell-billed subscriptions, continued access after the Bell billing period ends requires resubscribing directly through Crave. Check before signing up again, so you do not create duplicate billing. Bell’s subscription support page covers billing transitions and activation.

What to do if Crave says it is unavailable
- Confirm your location. Crave’s Canadian App Store listing says the service is available only in Canada. If you are outside Canada, app availability and playback may be restricted. A VPN is not a guaranteed workaround; access may depend on location, licensing, and service controls.
- Test the account on the web. Sign in at Crave’s official site or try another supported device. If the same account has no access there, the problem is less likely to be limited to one TV app. A browser test does not bypass regional or subscription requirements.
- Check the billing provider before subscribing again. Review your Bell, app-store, or other provider account to see whether the subscription is active, cancelled, or due for renewal. Use the provider that bills you to resolve payment issues.
- Verify the account and activation. Sign out and back in with the account associated with the subscription. If you receive Crave through Bell, check MyBell and the activation or account-linking steps for your offer.
- Check the device. Update the app and device software if available, then test another supported device. If the problem is on a Bell receiver, check whether it is a legacy model affected by the August 1, 2025 cutoff.
- Check the specific title and plan. If only one program is unavailable, review its access label and whether your plan includes it. Bell says licensing restrictions can exclude titles from ad-supported plans.
- Contact the provider responsible for the problem. Ask the billing company about payments and entitlement, Bell about its package or receiver, and Crave about a direct account issue.
What does a Crave subscription cost?
Bell’s plan page listed Crave Standard With Ads at $11.99 per month plus tax when checked in August 2026. Bell lists two simultaneous streams and up to 1080p for that plan. These are Bell-listed details, not a universal quote for every province, customer, signup route, promotion, or billing partner; confirm the current price and terms before subscribing. The plan includes advertising, and some titles may be unavailable because of licensing restrictions. Check Bell’s current plan page.
A direct subscription may suit someone who wants Crave without adding it to a Bell package. Bell billing or bundling may be convenient for eligible customers already using Bell, but activation and account linking can add steps when troubleshooting. Compare the actual offer and billing terms for your account rather than assuming a bundle will cost less.

Does Crave still have HBO, Max, and Showtime content?
Bell currently markets Crave as carrying programming from HBO, Max, Showtime, STARZ, and other sources, as well as Crave originals and films. The catalogue is subject to Canadian licensing and plan restrictions, so the availability of a particular series or film can change. Max is not the same service as Crave in Canada; viewers in the United States should not expect a Canadian Crave subscription or app to operate as a substitute for a U.S. service.
