Celebrity NFTs: 10 Famous Personalities Who Launched or Owned Digital Tokens

Several celebrities launched NFT collections or collaborated on them, while others became known for owning tokens from existing collections. Eminem and Snoop Dogg announced creator-led drops; Messi and Jay Chou were subjects of licensed or branded collections; and Madonna, Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Curry and Neymar Jr. were reported Bored Ape owners. The distinction matters: appearing in a celebrity NFT story does not necessarily mean the celebrity created the collection or that a token came with special access or rights.

What did these 10 celebrities do with NFTs?

This is a historical look at announced drops and reported ownership, not a list of current offers. The roles below separate creators and collaborators from licensed subjects and collectors. Where an announcement did not specify a token’s benefits or edition details, that information is marked as not stated rather than assumed.

Personality Role and project What was announced or reported Edition, access or other details
Eminem Creator-led drop: Shady Con On April 22, 2021, Eminem’s official site announced his first NFT collection on Nifty Gateway. It included Eminem-approved collectibles and original instrumental beats; the announcement said the concept drew on his interest in collecting comic books, baseball cards and toys. Specific supply and access benefits were not stated. Eminem said he wanted the drop to give fans the feeling of wanting “just that one or maybe even the whole set!”
Snoop Dogg Creator-led drop: A Journey with the Dogg Crypto.com described the March 30, 2021 release as eight pieces, including an auction item, the open-edition Snoop Dogge Coins and an original track titled NFT. The announcement said a portion of proceeds would support emerging crypto artists and Snoop’s Youth Football League. Separately, The Sandbox announced a Snoop Dogg partnership in 2021 that included 1,000 private-party passes; those passes belong to a different partnership context, not the eight-piece Crypto.com drop.
Paris Hilton Artist collaboration and collector Origin reported that a one-of-one NFT made with artist Blake Kathryn sold for over $1 million in April 2021. The same report said Hilton had accumulated more than 130 NFTs. The sale was for a single one-of-one work. Hilton described NFTs as “the future of the creator economy.” This reported sale is a historical figure, not an indication of a current asking price or resale value.
Lionel Messi Licensed collection: The Messiverse Ethernity announced a licensed, authenticated Messi collection with four pieces scheduled for August 20, 2021. It described futuristic, AI-driven depictions of Messi and said it represented verified artwork as NFTs. Four pieces were announced; the source did not state a broader access benefit for holders.
Jay Chou Brand collaboration: Tiger Champs Paris Saint-Germain announced an exclusive series with Jay Chou, distributed through Crypto.com/NFT. The announced fixed supply was 10,000 NFTs. The announcement did not state additional holder benefits.
Madonna Reported owner of a Bored Ape token El País and Decrypt reporting listed Madonna among celebrity Bored Ape owners. This documents reported ownership or display of a token from an existing collection, not creation of the Bored Ape collection. The reports do not establish present ownership.
Jimmy Fallon Reported owner of a Bored Ape token El País and Decrypt reporting listed Fallon among celebrity Bored Ape owners. Ownership of a token from an existing collection is distinct from creating or commissioning the collection. The reports do not establish present ownership.
Stephen Curry Reported owner of a Bored Ape token El País and Decrypt reporting listed Curry among celebrity Bored Ape owners. These reports concern ownership of a token in an existing collection, not authorship of the collection. They do not establish present ownership.
Neymar Jr. Reported owner of a Bored Ape token El País reported Neymar among celebrity Bored Ape owners. The reporting indicates ownership of a token from an existing collection, not creation of it, and does not establish present ownership.
Deepak Chopra Collection collaboration: TIMEPieces x Deepak Chopra: The Seven TIME announced an exclusive collection at nft.time.com and said one percent of primary sales would support the NeverAlone Mental Health Initiative. TIME’s 2023 account of the wider TIMEPieces initiative reported more than 60,000 community members, over 5,000 holders and more than 20,000 TIMEPieces NFTs released. Those figures describe the initiative overall, not this single collaboration.

What can a celebrity NFT actually give its owner?

The project determines what a token represents. In the examples above, announced contents include collectible artwork and instrumental beats from Eminem’s Shady Con, an original Snoop Dogg track and digital collectibles, Messi-themed art, and the Tiger Champs series. TIME also announced that one percent of primary sales from The Seven would support a mental-health initiative. Snoop Dogg’s separate Sandbox partnership included private-party passes.

Those specifics should not be generalized to every token. A celebrity’s involvement does not by itself establish event admission, access to music, commercial rights, a donation from secondary-market resales, or any continuing benefit. Check the terms and official announcement for the particular collection and token; if a benefit is not described there, do not assume it comes with ownership.

How to read celebrity NFT claims

  • Separate the roles. A creator or collaborator helped launch a drop; a licensed subject is represented in an authorized collection; a collector owns or has displayed a token from a collection someone else created.
  • Check who made the claim. Eminem’s site, Crypto.com, Ethernity, PSG and TIME announced projects or collaborations. Origin, El País and Decrypt are reporting sources for the Paris Hilton sale and celebrity ownership claims. An announcement and a news report are different kinds of evidence.
  • Read the edition terms. The examples include a one-of-one, an open edition, an auction item, a stated series supply and collections with piece counts. Those terms describe how a release was structured; they do not establish what a token is worth now.
  • Keep dates attached to claims. The announcements and reports cited here concern releases or ownership claims made in 2021–2023. They do not verify current listings, prices, liquidity, ownership or access.

As Snoop Dogg put it in Crypto.com’s announcement, “I’ve seen the game change over the years from analog to digital and I’m always happier when the technology lets the fans get to connect with the artists.” That describes an aspiration for the medium, not a promise that every NFT provides a continuing connection or benefit.
