Netflix Nextworld is real: Netflix launched the official Roblox experience in early access on May 9, 2024. It is a shared 3D hub for Netflix-inspired games, social spaces, collectibles and events—not a physical amusement park, a standalone Netflix app or one full-length game. The official Roblox listing remains online, but its latest retrieved status reported “There are currently no running experiences,” so availability of any particular activity must be checked live.
What Netflix Nextworld actually is
Netflix described Nextworld as a “digital theme park” and a 3D interactive universe built inside Roblox. Players move between connected areas based on Netflix shows and films, encounter characters, complete activities and socialize with other users.
The experience is listed on Roblox as Netflix Nextworld, with Netflix identified as its creator. It is not the same product as Netflix’s own games for mobile devices, TVs or computers, and it is not Netflix House, the company’s real-world entertainment venue.
When did Nextworld launch?
Netflix announced the early-access launch on May 9, 2024, in its Tudum article, “Explore Your Netflix Favorites in the New Nextworld Universe on Roblox.” That date refers to the early-access opening, not necessarily a final-release milestone. Launch coverage should therefore be treated as a description of the original offering rather than a guarantee that every feature remains available.

What could players do in the launch version?
Explore connected Netflix worlds
Nextworld linked several themed areas rather than presenting one linear campaign. Players could travel through show-inspired spaces, meet characters such as Dustin from Stranger Things, Luffy from ONE PIECE and Jimmy from Rebel Moon, and take part in activities tied to those properties.
Play games and complete challenges
The launch included branded mini-games and larger interactive activities. Completing challenges earned in-game currency and helped players collect items inspired by Netflix productions.
Customize a Fan Pod
Each player received a personal “Fan Pod” that could be customized and expanded. The pod could be kept private or opened to friends, making it part home base and part social space.

Later properties mentioned on the Roblox page
The retrieved Roblox description also referenced KPop Demon Hunters, WWE programming, The Electric State, Wednesday, Squid Game, Stranger Things and ONE PIECE. Those references show what the listing promoted at that point; they do not prove that every corresponding event or game is currently running.
How to access Netflix Nextworld
- Create or sign in to a Roblox account.
- Open the official Netflix Nextworld listing and verify that Netflix is shown as the creator.
- Launch it on a device supported by Roblox. Netflix’s 2024 announcement named Roblox-supported consoles, mobile devices and PC/Mac.
- Check the live experience page for available servers, scheduled events and current activities before expecting a specific show-themed area.
Searching only by name can surface unofficial fan-made games, so the creator field matters.
Is Nextworld free, and do you need Netflix?
The available launch announcement does not establish that a Netflix subscription is required to enter Nextworld. Players do need Roblox access, while Netflix-linked viewing prompts may lead separately to Netflix.

Netflix identified certain limited UGC rewards as free, but that is not a promise that every optional item, expansion or collectible is free. The sources reviewed also do not establish a universal entry fee or a complete item-pricing policy.

Status: The official Roblox page remains listed under Netflix and contains later promotional references. However, its latest retrieved page state said, “There are currently no running experiences.” That could reflect a temporary server condition, an inactive or limited-time state, or a dormant hub; it does not by itself prove permanent shutdown.
Because Roblox availability changes, use the live listing to determine whether a server can be joined and whether a named event is scheduled. A page remaining online is not evidence that all advertised activities are playable.

How Nextworld fits Netflix’s Roblox strategy
Nextworld turned Netflix fandom into an interactive, social format: users could play, collect avatar items and attend events instead of only watching a screen. Roblox later broadened the commercial framework. In July 2025, Roblox announced a licensing catalog that included Netflix, initially naming Stranger Things and Squid Game among the properties being extended onto Roblox. Details appear in Roblox’s licensing-platform announcement and its Developer Forum post.
That 2025 licensing program is related strategic context, not a second launch date for the Nextworld hub. It also does not mean that every Netflix-branded Roblox experience is part of Nextworld.
What to expect before trying it
- Best fit: Netflix fans who enjoy short interactive activities, social play and digital avatar rewards.
- Set expectations: Nextworld may function more like a branded hub with rotating activations than a persistent, full-scale theme-park game.
- Check timing: Limited events and rewards can disappear even when the main listing remains visible.
- Parents and guardians: Treat it as an online social Roblox experience, not simply as a passive Netflix companion, and use the account’s safety and communication controls.
- Keep ecosystems separate: Roblox gameplay access and Netflix viewing access are different; one does not automatically establish access to the other.
