This is a historical Canada guide for December 1–7, 2022, not a current 2026 schedule. Crave had the week’s biggest scripted and documentary premieres, while Netflix’s verified Canadian highlights leaned toward holiday viewing. Check the Crave package: several prominent films were labelled Starz and may require an add-on.
Bell Media’s dated Crave weekly overview is the authoritative schedule for that week. Netflix’s available announcement supports selected highlights, not a complete Canada-wide catalogue list.
Quick picks for the week
- Best fantasy premiere: His Dark Materials season 3 on Crave.
- Best documentary: Branson, premiering December 1 at 10 p.m. ET.
- Best true-crime documentary: Cocaine, Prison & Likes: Isabelle’s True Story, with all three episodes released December 2.
- Best music drama: George & Tammy, premiering December 4 at 9 p.m. ET.
- Best franchise rewatch: The four Hunger Games films on Crave’s Starz listing.

Release times, catalogue availability and package eligibility can change. Availability described here is for Canada.

How the weekly releases worked
- Gossip Girl: Two episodes on December 1, then one episode each Thursday.
- Branson: Premiere December 1 at 10 p.m. ET, with later episodes on Thursdays at the same time.
- George & Tammy: Sunday premiere, followed by Friday episodes.
- His Dark Materials: Two episodes premiered together on December 5; that does not mean the complete season was available.
- Other dated episodes: The Voice, Tales from the Territories and Shaq entries were individual instalments or a finale.
Crave or Netflix: which fits your viewing?
| Viewer | Better fit for this week | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Prestige-TV viewer | Crave | Gossip Girl, George & Tammy and His Dark Materials lead the dated schedule. |
| Documentary fan | Crave | Branson, Cocaine, Prison & Likes, Unveiled and Women Who Rock provide the strongest concentration. |
| Holiday viewer | Netflix or Crave | Netflix’s verified highlights emphasize holiday specials and films; Crave adds several holiday movies. |
| Family viewer | Netflix | Angela’s Christmas Wish is the clearest verified family highlight. |
| Franchise-film viewer | Crave with Starz | The Hunger Games and Spider-Man collections were Starz-labelled, so an add-on may be needed. |
| Reality-TV viewer | Either | Crave had The Voice and Shaq; Netflix had The Great British Baking Show: Holidays season 3. |
What is—and is not—verified for Netflix Canada
Netflix’s dated holiday materials confirm the four December 1–4 highlights above and describe a Canada holiday promotion, but they do not establish a complete Canadian release calendar for every day from December 1 through 7. Do not substitute a United States list: Netflix catalogues vary by country. Netflix’s current dynamic New on Netflix page is not a reliable historical record of the 2022 week.
For a complete retrospective Netflix list, an archived, Canada-specific dated newsroom or catalogue announcement would be required. The holiday context is documented in Netflix’s December 2022 announcement.
