Justin and Amanda met during their freshman year at the University of Texas. Amanda later told Chesapeake Family that they were introduced by a friend at freshman orientation and “dated all through college.” Justin’s account to the Baltimore Ravens also places their first meeting in their freshman year.
They dated for five years before becoming engaged in 2013. The Ravens reported that Justin proposed in Baltimore with a candlelit setup and musicians from All Time Low serenading Amanda. Before proposing, he had imagined a far more theatrical scenario: “How ridiculous would it be if I got to kick the game-winning field goal in the Super Bowl, then I meet Amanda on the 50-yard line on international television and ask her to marry me?”

The Associated Press reported on June 26, 2025, that the NFL suspended Justin Tucker for the first 10 weeks of the 2025 season under its personal conduct policy. The same report said Tucker maintained that he had not acted inappropriately during professional treatment.
