WWE SummerSlam 2025 at a glance
SummerSlam 2025 was WWE’s first SummerSlam presented across two nights. The event combined championship matches, grudge matches, a celebrity in-ring debut, a six-team TLC match and two major world-title developments.

There was a time discrepancy in WWE’s event listings. The official event pages listed Saturday at 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT and Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. WWE’s individual match-preview pages and Peacock’s event guide promoted both nights at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT. Since the event has already taken place, the important historical point is the August 2–3 schedule; archived listings may show either Sunday start time.

Roman Reigns and Jey Uso defeated Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed
Jey Uso scored the decisive pinfall on Bronson Reed after hitting the Uso Splash. The match gave Reigns and Uso the expected victory over the younger, physically imposing team of Breakker and Reed, while also providing one of the event’s clearest examples of storyline momentum translating into a result.
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss won the Women’s Tag Team Championship
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss defeated Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. The result added a title change to Saturday’s card and gave Flair and Bliss a major championship position coming out of SummerSlam.
Sami Zayn defeated Karrion Kross
Zayn won after an Exploder Suplex and a Helluva Kick. A notable character moment came when Zayn declined to use a weapon offered during the match, allowing the finish to reinforce his decision to win on his own terms rather than take the shortcut placed in front of him.
Tiffany Stratton retained against Jade Cargill
WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton defeated Jade Cargill and retained the championship with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever. Cargill was challenging for her first WWE women’s world-title opportunity, but Stratton entered as the established champion and left with the title intact.

Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul defeated Randy Orton and Jelly Roll
The match marked Jelly Roll’s in-ring WWE debut. He teamed with Randy Orton against Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul, and the bout included Jelly Roll being splashed through the announce table. Paul ultimately pinned Jelly Roll after the Paul from Grace. The result protected the established wrestlers’ team while giving the celebrity participant a prominent SummerSlam spotlight.
CM Punk defeated Gunther, then Seth Rollins cashed in
CM Punk defeated Gunther to win the World Heavyweight Championship, surviving Gunther’s submission attempts and power offense before securing the victory with two GTS attempts. It was presented as a major opportunity for Punk to win a WWE world championship after his return and as a high-profile defense for Gunther.
The title celebration did not last. Seth Rollins appeared to be injured, using crutches and wearing a knee brace, but the apparent injury was revealed as a deception. Rollins attacked Punk moments after the title match and cashed in his Money in the Bank contract. He then defeated Punk to become World Heavyweight Champion. In practical terms, Punk won the scheduled championship match, but Rollins ended Saturday as the champion.

|---|---|
| Women’s World Championship Triple Threat | Naomi defeated Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY to retain |
| WWE Tag Team Championship TLC Match | The Wyatt Sicks, represented by Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis, won the titles |
| Women’s Intercontinental Championship Last Chance Match | Becky Lynch defeated Lyra Valkyria and retained |
| United States Championship Steel Cage Match | Solo Sikoa defeated Jacob Fatu and retained |
| Intercontinental Championship | Dominik Mysterio defeated AJ Styles and retained |
| Undisputed WWE Championship Street Fight | Cody Rhodes defeated John Cena to win the title |
Naomi retained the Women’s World Championship
Naomi defeated Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY in a Triple Threat Match to remain Women’s World Champion. The stipulation created a straightforward championship advantage: Naomi could win without directly pinning either challenger. That made a retention a logical pre-event forecast even though Ripley and SKY were both credible threats.
The Wyatt Sicks won the WWE Tag Team Championship TLC Match
Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis represented the Wyatt Sicks in a TLC match involving DIY, The Street Profits, the Motor City Machine Guns, Fraxiom, and Andrade and Rey Fénix. Gacy retrieved the championships with assistance from Lumis, giving the Wyatt Sicks the titles in a chaotic multi-team finish.
Becky Lynch retained against Lyra Valkyria
Becky Lynch defeated Lyra Valkyria in a No Disqualification, No Count-Out, Last Chance Match. Lynch retained the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, and WWE’s recap stated that Valkyria could not challenge for the title again while Lynch remained champion. The “last chance” stipulation therefore had a continuing consequence beyond the single result.
Solo Sikoa retained against Jacob Fatu in a Steel Cage Match
Solo Sikoa defeated Jacob Fatu in a Steel Cage Match. The cage did not eliminate outside influence: interference by Sikoa’s allies helped the champion escape and retain. The finish kept the Bloodline-family conflict central while protecting Sikoa’s championship position.
Dominik Mysterio retained the Intercontinental Championship
Dominik Mysterio defeated AJ Styles after countering Styles and taking advantage of confusion involving the referee. Mysterio kept the Intercontinental Championship, adding another successful title defense to Sunday’s card.

Cody Rhodes defeated John Cena in the Street Fight
Cody Rhodes defeated John Cena in the main event to win the Undisputed WWE Championship. The Street Fight stipulation supplied a more conclusive setting for their rivalry and allowed Rhodes to regain WWE’s top championship after Cena’s victory over him at WrestleMania 41.
Rhodes’ victory was the clearest long-term title-story payoff of the two-night event. Rather than extending the same title direction with another Cena win, WWE used the rematch to return the championship to Rhodes and close SummerSlam with a decisive change at the top of the card.

Why Cody Rhodes was the strongest Sunday pick
Rhodes versus Cena was the event’s central Sunday match, and the Street Fight stipulation suggested WWE wanted a definitive conclusion rather than another protected championship outcome. Cena had already beaten Rhodes at WrestleMania 41, so another Cena victory would have prolonged the same title-direction story. Picking Rhodes to regain the championship was therefore the most logical prediction, and it proved correct.
Why Gunther was the cautious pick over CM Punk
Gunther entered as the established World Heavyweight Champion, while Punk was the challenger seeking a major WWE world-title victory after his return. That made Gunther the safer prediction. Punk remained a credible alternative because the match was built as a showcase for the “Best in the World” and carried enough importance to justify a title change. Punk’s win showed why the match was difficult to call, although Rollins’ cash-in immediately redirected the championship story.
The title-retention logic on the rest of the card
Naomi had the structural advantage in a Triple Threat because the champion could retain without being pinned directly by the principal challenger. Stratton was also the reasonable favorite as the established champion facing Cargill’s first WWE women’s world-title opportunity. In the Steel Cage Match, Sikoa’s faction remained a reason to favor the champion despite the stipulation’s apparent promise of isolation.
The tag-team predictions followed storyline momentum and championship positioning. Reigns and Jey Uso, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, and the Wyatt Sicks were the most defensible picks in their respective matches, and all three predictions aligned with the results.
How to watch SummerSlam 2025 now
There is no longer a live SummerSlam 2025 broadcast to tune into. The event is an archive and replay question, and the correct service depends on the viewer’s country and the date of access.
Where it streamed during the 2025 event
- United States: SummerSlam 2025 streamed live on Peacock on August 2 and 3, 2025.
- Most international markets: Netflix carried the event live.
- Other territories: WWE Network or local distribution partners could apply where the move to Netflix had not taken place.
Those were the event-time arrangements. Peacock should not be described as WWE’s current U.S. home for Premium Live Events simply because it carried SummerSlam 2025 when it was live.

Current viewing guidance
WWE’s current viewing guide lists U.S. Premium Live Events on the ESPN App with an ESPN Unlimited plan. Netflix remains the live WWE home in most international regions. That does not automatically confirm that every older event, including SummerSlam 2025, is available in every subscriber’s replay catalog.
For a replay, start with WWE’s official SummerSlam 2025 archive or on-demand listing, then check the authorized provider available in your territory. Search the exact event title inside the service and verify that the listing is for the full two-night event rather than a highlights package. Rights, catalogs and plan requirements can change, so a specific claim about current replay availability should be checked immediately before publication or viewing.
The most useful search phrase is WWE Premium Live Events streaming, but readers should use the official WWE viewing guide and their local provider’s current catalog rather than rely on an old Peacock listing.

Presenting SummerSlam across two nights at MetLife Stadium gave WWE room for a much larger event without placing every match in one continuous card. The format accommodated multiple women’s championship matches, two world-title stories, a TLC match with six teams, a Steel Cage Match, a Street Fight and celebrity involvement.
The women’s divisions received substantial space across both nights. Saturday featured Stratton versus Cargill and the Women’s Tag Team Championship match, while Sunday included Naomi’s Triple Threat and Lynch versus Valkyria for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. That distribution made the women’s championships a major part of the event rather than a short undercard segment.
The structure also allowed WWE to separate its biggest narrative payoffs. Saturday ended with Punk winning a world title and losing it to Rollins, while Sunday ended with Rhodes reclaiming the company’s other top championship from Cena. Those two endings gave each night a distinct headline rather than making one result compete with several others in a single finale.
