Is Slow Horses Season 6 confirmed?
Yes. Slow Horses Season 6 is officially confirmed, and Apple has published a specific September 16, 2026 premiere date. Apple announced the sixth-season renewal on October 15, 2024 and later confirmed the release schedule in its June 11, 2026 first-look announcement.
The important distinction is between confirmation and absolute schedule certainty. As of the research date, August 14, 2026, September 16 is the official date, not a prediction. Apple could still move the premiere before launch, so viewers should check Apple TV immediately before September 16 or on release day for any territory-specific scheduling update.

Apple’s official synopsis says, “Season six sees the Slow Horses on the run as Diana Taverner embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.” The reviewed official sources do not establish specific deaths, betrayals, villains or episode events, so those details should not be presented as confirmed Season 6 plot points.
Which books is Slow Horses Season 6 based on?
Slow Horses Season 6 is adapted from Mick Herron’s Joe Country and Slough House, the sixth and seventh novels in the Slough House series. Apple confirms the two source novels, but the available announcements do not explain exactly how the books are divided, combined or changed for television.
Readers who want the most direct preparation can read Joe Country by Mick Herron first and then continue with Slough House. The books are useful source material, but viewers should not assume that Season 6 reproduces either novel scene for scene.
