That was the “new streaming home” referenced by the original headline—not a new August 2026 announcement. The Ryan Coogler horror film also debuted on Max earlier, on July 4, 2025, and current U.S. listings continue to show several ways to watch it, including subscription services, digital rental or purchase, and physical media.
What changed for Sinners?
Prime Video added Sinners on December 26, 2025. The date matters because the phrase “this month” belongs to the original December 2025 publication context. As of the latest research date, August 11, 2026, the Prime Video arrival is a past catalog change rather than an imminent release.
Prime Video did not necessarily replace Max. Warner Bros. Discovery announced Sinners’ global streaming debut on Max for July 4, 2025, and current U.S. availability tracking still lists Max alongside Prime Video. Streaming rights can overlap: a film may be included with one service while also appearing in another service’s store or subscription catalog.
Where to watch Sinners in the U.S.
| Viewing route | What it means | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Prime Video | The film is listed on Amazon’s streaming platform. Depending on the account, territory, and current catalog window, the title may appear as included with a subscription or as a separate store listing. | Look for the wording on the title page: included access, rental, or purchase. A Prime membership should not automatically be assumed to include the film. |
| Max | Sinners first made its subscription-streaming debut on Max on July 4, 2025. U.S. availability tracking checked in late July 2026 still listed Max as an option. | Catalogs change, so confirm the title is currently available in your own Max account before subscribing specifically to watch it. |
| Digital rental or purchase | You can use a transactional option rather than relying on a subscription catalog. Amazon’s own material says customers can buy the film without a Prime membership, and the Prime Video title page exposes rental and purchase formats. | Check the current price, rental period, resolution, and audio options before paying. These terms can change. |
| 4K UHD, Blu-ray, or DVD | Warner Bros. released the home-media editions on July 8, 2025. Physical copies avoid the uncertainty of a changing streaming catalog. | Verify the specific edition’s included discs, bonus features, audio formats, and presentation details on the individual listing. |
Subscription streaming is not the same as renting or buying
Availability pages often group every online option under “streaming,” but the cost to the viewer can be very different:
#1 Best Overall
- Ultra-speedy streaming: Roku Ultra is 30% faster than any other Roku player, delivering a lightning-fast interface and apps that launch in a snap.
- Cinematic streaming: This TV streaming device brings the movie theater to your living room with spectacular 4K, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision picture alongside immersive Dolby Atmos audio.
- The ultimate Roku remote: The rechargeable Roku Voice Remote Pro offers backlit buttons, hands-free voice controls, and a lost remote finder.
- No more fumbling in the dark: See what you’re pressing with backlit buttons.
- Say goodbye to batteries: Keep your remote powered for months on a single charge.
- Subscription access: The film is included in an active service plan, if the title is currently part of that plan’s catalog.
- Digital rental: You pay once and receive a limited viewing window. The rental period and time allowed after playback begins should be displayed before checkout.
- Digital purchase: You pay for a digital license through a store. This is not the same as owning a physical disc, and access remains subject to the retailer’s platform and account terms.
- Physical ownership: A disc provides a durable home-viewing copy, although you need compatible hardware and the correct regional format.
For immediate viewing, you can watch Sinners on Prime Video by opening the title page and checking whether your account shows included access, a rental button, or a purchase button. If the film is not included in your plan, you may still see transactional options.
Is Max still carrying Sinners?
The available evidence supports a careful answer: Max was the film’s first subscription-streaming home, and U.S. availability tracking checked in July 2026 still listed it. That does not establish that Max will carry the film indefinitely, nor does it prove that every country has the same catalog.

- TV, simplified: With setup that only takes minutes, a simple-to-navigate Home Screen, and an uncluttered remote control that does all you need—Roku makes it easier to watch the TV you love.
Do not interpret the Prime Video addition as proof that Sinners left Max. Prime Video and Max can carry the same film at the same time under separate licensing and distribution arrangements. If Max is your preferred option, search for Sinners inside the service immediately before subscribing or starting playback.
Should you rent or buy Sinners digitally?
Digital rental or purchase is useful if you want to see the film now without taking out a new monthly subscription. Amazon’s Prime Video store is one documented route: you can rent Sinners on Prime Video or buy it digitally, subject to the price and formats shown in your account.

A rental generally makes the most sense for a one-time viewing. A digital purchase may be preferable if you expect to rewatch the film, but compare its price with the cost of a physical edition and remember that digital access is tied to the retailer’s account and platform terms.

Is the Sinners 4K Blu-ray worth considering?
For viewers who want a permanent copy or the most substantial home-viewing presentation, the Sinners 4K UHD Blu-ray is the strongest physical-media option identified in the research. Warner Bros.’ July 8, 2025 home release included 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD editions. The home-media release also included expanded aspect-ratio presentation intended for home viewing.
Edition details can vary by listing. Before ordering, confirm whether the package contains a 4K disc plus a standard Blu-ray, which bonus features are included, supported audio formats, and whether your player and television support 4K UHD playback. Retail availability and price are also subject to change.
The standard Sinners Blu-ray and DVD editions are alternatives for viewers who do not have a 4K setup or who prefer a lower-cost physical format. They are part of the same July 8, 2025 home-media release, but do not assume that every package has identical discs, extras, or presentation features.
What is Sinners about?

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why availability may look different for you
- Country: The availability described here is for the United States. Licensing rights differ by country, so an international reader should check local listings rather than assume that Prime Video or Max has the same title.
- Account and plan: A title page may show different access options depending on whether you have Prime, a Max plan, a channel add-on, or no subscription.
- Catalog timing: A film can move between included streaming, rental, and purchase windows without a new theatrical or home-media release.
- Edition: Digital and physical versions may differ in resolution, aspect ratio, audio, bonus content, and language options.
The safest method is to search for the film directly in the service or store you plan to use and read the access label before pressing play or completing checkout.
