WCO is not demonstrably down for everyone. It can be reachable from one browser, internet provider, or country while failing for another. The status page says it checks several WCO-related domains and refreshes approximately every 60 seconds. It defines “online” as reachable and responding, including cases where Cloudflare presents a challenge, while “offline” includes unreachable sites and Cloudflare origin errors in the 521–526 range.
That status page is useful, but it is not an independent uptime or safety guarantee. The operator warns that some sites may block non-browser requests, which can create false online or offline results. Your ISP, browser, location, extensions, antivirus software, and the particular video embed can all produce a different result.

WCO has also publicly said that the service is not shutting down and has directed users to its status page for updates. That is the operator’s position—not independent confirmation that every domain is available, secure, licensed, or working in your region.
Why WCO may work for someone else but not for you
“WCO is down” can describe several different failures:
- The homepage is unreachable: the domain may be unavailable, blocked by your ISP, affected by a Cloudflare error, or failing only from your network.
- The homepage loads but the player is missing: the embedded media host, script, or anti-adblock system may be failing separately.
- The player appears but the video will not start: the particular episode, media host, browser session, or connection may be the problem.
- The page works in one browser only: cached site data, cookies, extensions, or browser security settings may be interfering.
- The site is slow or times out: congestion, routing, ISP filtering, overloaded servers, or an unreliable embed can all contribute.
Third-party outage reports have included missing players, Cloudflare errors, slow loading, connection timeouts, anti-adblock behavior, and failures affecting individual domains or embeds. These reports support the conclusion that user experience is inconsistent, but they are anecdotal reports rather than a controlled measurement of WCO’s uptime.
Safe PC troubleshooting sequence
1. Test another unrelated website
Open a well-known site that is unrelated to WCO. If several sites fail, the issue is probably broader than WCO and may involve your Wi-Fi, router, DNS configuration, firewall, antivirus software, or internet provider. If other sites work normally, continue with WCO-specific checks.

2. Check the operator-linked status monitor
Use the status monitor as one signal, not as proof that the site will work on your computer. If the monitor reports an outage and the main page also fails, waiting may be more productive than repeatedly changing browser settings. If the monitor reports that a domain is online but you cannot connect, your ISP, browser, location, or request type may be producing the difference.

3. Try a private window
Open WCO in a private or incognito window in your current browser. This gives you a quick diagnostic comparison with reduced use of existing cookies and cached sessions.
- If WCO works privately, cached data, cookies, or an extension is a likely cause.
- If it fails in both normal and private windows, investigate the browser, network, site, or player separately.
Private browsing is a test, not a security solution. It does not make an unverified streaming source trustworthy and does not hide your activity from your ISP or network administrator.
4. Clear only WCO’s site data first
Do not immediately erase every cookie and cached file in the browser. Clear data for the affected WCO domain only, then reopen the page. Site-specific data can become stale or corrupted and cause loading or formatting problems.
Be aware that clearing site data can sign you out and remove site preferences. If the problem remains, you can consider a broader browser cache reset, but record any settings you may need to restore.
5. Isolate extensions instead of disabling security wholesale
Ad blockers, privacy extensions, script controls, and content filters can interfere with embedded players or trigger anti-adblock systems. Diagnose the issue carefully:

- Open the browser’s extensions page.
- Disable one nonessential extension at a time.
- Reload the page after each change.
- Keep a note of which extension changes the result.
- Re-enable extensions that are not responsible.
Do not permanently disable your antivirus, firewall, browser protection, or other security controls just to make a video play. If you temporarily change a protection setting for a narrowly defined diagnostic test, restore it immediately and do not proceed if the page requests an unknown download or executable.

6. Update or test another current browser
Install pending updates for your current browser and restart it. Then test another current browser, such as Edge, Chrome, Firefox, or Safari where applicable. A second browser helps identify whether the problem is local to the original browser or follows the connection and site.
Also restart the computer if the browser has been running for a long time or has many tabs open. Low available memory can cause pages and embedded players to fail, particularly when several video tabs are open.
7. Check the network path
Restart the router, reconnect the PC, and test WCO from another connection if one is legitimately available—for example, a different Wi-Fi network or a mobile hotspot. This comparison can show whether the failure is limited to one ISP or home network.

When the homepage works but the video does not
A functioning homepage does not prove that the video service is functioning. The page and the video may depend on different servers, scripts, certificates, and embedded media hosts.
Use this narrower troubleshooting branch:
- Try a different episode or title. If only one video fails, the problem may be limited to that item or its embed.
- Reload once after the page has fully loaded. Repeatedly refreshing a failing page usually does not repair a broken media host.
- Test a clean browser session. This helps identify cookies, cached scripts, or extensions.
- Look for deceptive prompts. A message demanding a codec, “special player,” browser extension, executable, or security scan is a reason to stop—not a normal requirement for safe playback.
- Scan the downloaded file only if you deliberately downloaded a legitimate file from a trusted source. Do not open an unsolicited executable or allow a browser page to control your security software.
Anti-adblock behavior can also prevent a player from appearing. That does not mean the safe response is to turn off every protection. If you choose to test a site-specific exception, use the browser or extension’s narrow, reversible controls and restore protection when finished. Leave the page if it demands payment or software you did not expect.

What not to trust in search results
Search results contain many domains using WCO branding and claiming to be official, safe, or legal. Those labels are not independent verification. A long list of supposedly working mirror domains would quickly become stale and could direct readers to impersonators, aggressive advertising, malware, or unlicensed copies.
