Wordle gives you six attempts to find a hidden five-letter word. After each guess:
- Green tiles show letters that are in the answer and in the correct positions.
- Yellow tiles show letters that belong in the answer but are in the wrong positions.
- Gray tiles show letters that are not used in the answer.

Tips for solving future Wordle puzzles
- Use an opening guess that tests several common letters. A strong first word usually combines frequently used consonants with more than one vowel.
- Treat yellow letters as positional information. A yellow tile confirms that the letter belongs somewhere in the answer, but it must be moved to an untested position.
- Use the second guess to gather information. If the first word gives you little to work with, test new high-frequency letters rather than repeating too many gray ones.
- Account for repeated letters. Even when a puzzle answer contains a duplicate, the tile colors can be easy to misread. For WIDEN, however, every letter appears only once.
- Keep possible word patterns visible. Once you have several green tiles, list plausible completions and use the remaining guesses to distinguish between them.
