Viewers had to create or use a free Tubi account before watching the live, ad-supported stream. The event took place on February 9, 2025, and is no longer live.
Super Bowl LIX was free to watch on Tubi, but it was not available with no sign-up. Tubi required viewers to create or use a free account before they could watch the live stream. There was no paid subscription or pay-per-view charge, but registration was the small catch.
That offer applied to Super Bowl LIX, played on February 9, 2025, between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. The event has ended, so Tubi is not currently offering it as a live event.
What “free on Tubi” actually meant
Tubi carried FOX’s live telecast as a free, ad-supported stream. Viewers did not need to subscribe to a premium sports package or pay Tubi to access the game. They did, however, need to register for a free Tubi account and sign in.

The stream was not ad-free. Tubi’s service is supported by advertising, and the Super Bowl broadcast itself included the normal commercial inventory associated with the televised event.
FOX and its partners also distributed the game through other outlets, including FOX, FOX Deportes, Telemundo, and NFL digital properties. Tubi’s offering was the free streaming option associated with FOX’s broadcast, along with related game-day programming.

How viewers accessed the game
For the live event, the practical process was:
- Open Tubi in a supported web browser or install the Tubi app on a supported device.
- Create a free Tubi account, or sign in to an existing one.
- Find the Super Bowl hub or event page in Tubi.
- Select the live game stream when it became available.
Tubi listed support for platforms including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple devices, Xbox One, Comcast devices, supported Samsung and LG televisions, Vizio televisions, Google TV, mobile devices, and the web. That list did not guarantee that every compatible Tubi device would support the special live event or its 4K version. App, device, and regional requirements could also apply.
Was the Tubi stream available in 4K?
Yes, Tubi promoted the Super Bowl stream in 4K on supported devices. The phrase “on supported devices” matters: owning a 4K television by itself was not enough.

Tubi’s 4K requirements included:
- A 4K television or other 4K-capable display
- A 4K-compatible streaming device
- A 4K-ready HDMI cable
- A reliable internet connection
If your television already had a supported Tubi app and the event was available in the required quality, you might not have needed any extra hardware. For viewers whose existing setup could not run the 4K stream, a 4K streaming device could be the relevant upgrade. A 4K HDMI cable may also be needed when connecting an external streaming device to a 4K display, although replacing a cable that already supports the required signal would not improve the picture.
A 4K TV was an optional upgrade for viewers who wanted the highest-resolution experience, not a requirement for watching the ordinary stream. Tubi’s documentation did not specify a universal internet-speed threshold, so it would be misleading to promise that a particular connection speed guaranteed uninterrupted 4K playback.
Was the broadcast in English or Spanish?
Tubi’s event help documentation said that the main live stream was English-only. Spanish-language Super Bowl programming was available separately through Tubi’s Spanish-language event offering, rather than necessarily being an alternate audio track on the primary stream.
What else did Tubi offer?
The game was not the only game-day programming associated with the event. Tubi also promoted FOX’s pregame coverage and a Tubi Red Carpet event hosted by Olivia Culpo.

After the event, Tubi reported that its Super Bowl LIX simulcast reached an average-minute audience of 13.6 million and a peak of 15.5 million concurrent viewers. Tubi also reported more than 24 million unique viewers for its broader game-day programming. Those figures are Tubi’s own reported measurements, not independent testing or an independently audited audience estimate.
The important limitations
- It was free, not subscription-free in the sense of no registration. A free Tubi account was required for the event.
- It was ad-supported. Free access did not mean an ad-free broadcast.
- It was not guaranteed on every Tubi device. The special live event and 4K stream had their own support requirements.
- 4K was conditional. Display, streaming device, HDMI connection, app support, and internet reliability all mattered.
- The offer was U.S.- and event-specific. The documented experience concerned the February 9, 2025 Super Bowl LIX broadcast in the United States.
- The live event is over. Tubi’s current Super Bowl page says the event has ended, so readers should not expect to open it and watch Super Bowl LIX live now.
Bottom line
Super Bowl LIX really was available on Tubi without a paid subscription. The catch was that viewers had to create a free Tubi account before watching. The stream was ad-supported, device compatibility was not universal, and the advertised 4K quality required compatible hardware and a dependable connection. Since the game was played on February 9, 2025, the offer should now be understood as a past event rather than a current live-streaming option.
