When did FC 26 release?
The Standard Edition release date was September 26, 2025. On consoles, the game became available at midnight in the player’s local time, so there was no single worldwide console countdown shared by every region.
#1 Best Overall
- This video game is the world's leading football game; The Standard Edition contains the EA SPORTS FC 26 full game
- The Club is Yours in EA SPORTS FC 26.
- Experience Manager Career like never before with all-new Manager Live Challenges.
- Put your dream squad to the test in Football Ultimate Team with Tournaments and Live Events, as well as a refreshed Rivals and Champs experience.
On PC, EA used a global release time of 1:00 p.m. BST on September 25. That meant the PC version became playable on the afternoon of September 25 in the United Kingdom and during the morning of September 25 in the continental United States, even though the headline worldwide Standard Edition date was September 26.
When did FC 26 early access begin?
Ultimate Edition early access began on September 19, 2025, providing up to seven days of access before the Standard Edition launch. The Ultimate Edition timing was platform-specific:
- Console: midnight on September 19 in the player’s local console region.
- PC: midnight BST on September 19, equivalent to 7:00 p.m. ET and 4:00 p.m. PT on September 18.
The phrase “up to seven days” matters because the benefit was tied to the edition and its applicable terms. It should not be interpreted as every platform opening at the same universal moment.
How the EA Play trial worked
EA Play members received a 10-hour trial beginning at 1:00 p.m. BST on September 19, 2025. In the United States, that was 8:00 a.m. ET or 5:00 a.m. PT.

This was a time-limited trial, not unlimited ownership of the game. The clock applied to gameplay time, so players who wanted to preserve the trial needed to close the game rather than leave it running when they were finished.
EA Play Pro members on PC had a different access route: unlimited access through the EA Play Pro Edition, subject to the subscription and product terms. EA Play Pro PC access should therefore not be presented as the same product as either the console Ultimate Edition or the regular EA Play trial.
Which platforms supported FC 26?
EA listed the following launch platforms:
- PlayStation 5
- PlayStation 4
- Xbox Series X|S
- Xbox One
- Nintendo Switch
- Nintendo Switch 2
- PC
PC purchase and download destinations included the EA app, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Console and Nintendo purchases were directed through the applicable PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo storefront. EA’s release page provides the official platform destinations.
Readers comparing physical listings should check the exact platform and generation before buying. For example, a listing such as EA SPORTS FC 26 for PS5 is not interchangeable with the PS4, Xbox, Switch, Switch 2, or PC version. The Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5 versions offered cross-generation access within their respective platform families, subject to EA’s terms.

Ultimate Edition, Standard Edition, and physical-copy caveats
The early-access benefit was associated with the Ultimate Edition and the other access routes EA explicitly identified, not with the Standard Edition alone. Someone buying or redeeming the relevant product after September 25, 2025 could be ineligible for early access under EA’s offer terms.

Physical and digital editions should not automatically be assumed to contain identical bonuses. EA specifically documented differences involving physical versions and Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders. Some offers also excluded particular FC 25 content. The contents of a particular box or storefront listing depended on the edition, platform, region, and redemption terms.
EA’s offer terms also distinguished pre-order rewards from access to the game itself. Some bonus content required players to connect to EA’s servers and complete actions such as logging into Ultimate Team, logging into Clubs, or creating a Career Mode save while connected.

FC 26 launch checklist
- Confirm the edition. Check whether the purchase is Standard, Ultimate, EA Play trial access, or EA Play Pro PC access.
- Confirm the platform. Verify the console generation or PC storefront before redeeming a code or downloading.
- Check the regional timing. Console launches used midnight local time; PC launches followed EA’s published BST times.
- Install in advance. Downloading the game before the unlock time reduces the chance that installation delays affect access.
- Sign in to the required accounts. EA and platform accounts may be required, and PC players may need the EA app.
- Redeem before the cutoff. EA’s terms warned that redeeming the relevant product after September 25 could remove early-access eligibility.
- Keep trial time in mind. EA Play access was limited to 10 hours, unlike EA Play Pro PC access.
- Check bonus instructions separately. Pre-order content could require online connection and activity in Ultimate Team, Clubs, or Career Mode.
