The White Lotus Thailand hotel is not one real hotel. Season 3’s fictional resort was assembled from four principal properties: Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort, Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort, and Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas. Four Seasons is the main resort backdrop; the three Anantara properties fill in the lobby, bar, wellness, and room settings.

1. Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui is the main White Lotus resort
If someone asks for “the real White Lotus Thailand resort,” Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui is the most useful answer—with one important qualification. It is the principal resort location, not the only property used in the season.

The Koh Samui resort supplies many of the images that establish the fictional hotel: villas, pool areas, restaurant spaces, tropical paths, fitness or gym areas, and other guest-facing amenities. Its setting on Koh Samui, in the Gulf of Thailand, gives the fictional White Lotus resort much of its visual identity.
Travelers interested in staying at Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui should therefore expect the real property to resemble the show’s central resort environment, but not to reproduce every room, facility, or scene. The series combines locations through editing and production design.
2. Anantara Bophut supplied the lobby and arrival experience
Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort plays the more business-facing side of the fictional hotel. Reported scenes include the Thai-style lobby, the tree-lined entrance, a security station or entrance barrier, an employee parking area, and a jewelry shop.
That division helps explain why the resort can feel architecturally consistent even when individual spaces do not belong to the same property. Four Seasons provides much of the luxury-resort backdrop, while Anantara Bophut supplies key arrival and operational details. Anantara’s own resort materials identify the property as appearing in several Season 3 scenes.
3. The White Lotus bar is The Singing Bird Lounge
The show’s distinctive bar scenes were filmed at The Singing Bird Lounge at Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort. The venue is a treehouse-style lounge set beneath a large rain tree, making it one of the season’s most recognizable real-world locations.
For visitors trying to identify or visit the bar, “Anantara Lawana” is the crucial detail. It is not simply a generic White Lotus set or a bar at Four Seasons Koh Samui. Anantara’s official materials also identify The Singing Bird Lounge as a Season 3 filming location associated with the opening episode.

4. Anantara Mai Khao became the wellness sanctuary
The wellness storyline shifts the fictional geography from Koh Samui to Phuket. Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas supplied the season’s Wellness Sanctuary and spa settings, as well as Belinda’s villa or room.
Anantara’s property materials identify Mai Khao as a Season 3 location, and its Lotus Villa is specifically presented in connection with Belinda’s villa in the series. This is the clearest example of the production’s geographical sleight of hand: the show presents one seamless resort, but its wellness environment is on Phuket while the main resort backdrop is on Koh Samui.
Why four resorts are counted—but not just one
The “four real resorts” description refers to the four principal hotel properties that construct the fictional White Lotus resort:
- Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui: the main resort setting and many villas, pools, and amenities.
- Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort: the lobby, entrance, security, employee, and retail details.
- Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort: The Singing Bird Lounge, used as the White Lotus bar.
- Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas: the wellness sanctuary, spa spaces, and Belinda’s villa.
It would be inaccurate to say that the entire season was filmed at these four hotels. The production also used restaurants, beaches, temples, nightlife venues, a boxing stadium, marine-park scenery, private villas, and Bangkok landmarks.
Rosewood Phuket: the extra hotel location
Dinner scenes were reported at Ta Khai at Rosewood Phuket, the resort’s Thai restaurant. Rosewood Phuket should not be omitted from a complete account of the season’s locations, but it should be labeled correctly.
Ta Khai is an additional restaurant filming location, not one of the four principal resorts used to create the fictional White Lotus hotel. Counting every hotel property that contributed any restaurant or interior footage would produce a number larger than four. The four-resort count is specifically about the main properties that collectively portray the resort itself.
For travelers interested in recreating the dinner setting, Ta Khai at Rosewood Phuket is the relevant name. It is a dining destination connected to the production, not a claim that Rosewood Phuket supplied the show’s entire resort.
Other White Lotus Season 3 filming locations in Thailand
The season’s map extends well beyond the four resort properties. Major production activity took place in Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok, with additional scenes on nearby islands and at cultural and entertainment venues.
- Mu Ko Ang Thong National Marine Park: boat sequences and ocean vistas near Koh Samui.
- Ya Nui Beach: a Phuket beach location.
- Fisherman’s Village in Bophut: a Koh Samui setting outside the resorts.
- Haad Rin Beach on Koh Phangan: associated with the Full Moon Party material.
- Café del Mar Phuket: a nightlife and entertainment setting.
- Bangla Boxing Stadium in Phuket: a sports and nightlife location.
- Wat Pu Khao Thong and other temples: cultural locations on Koh Samui.

Anantara has promoted a White Lotus-related exploration connecting Bangkok, Koh Samui, and Phuket, including featured properties and experiences. Package contents, availability, prices, and any renovation or access changes can change, so they should be checked immediately before booking. The show’s location choices do not by themselves constitute an endorsement of a particular itinerary or hotel package.
What visitors should expect at the real resorts
All four principal properties are real, operating hospitality businesses, but none is “the White Lotus Thailand hotel” in the literal sense. The on-screen resort is an edited composite.
A stay at Four Seasons Koh Samui will provide the closest match to the show’s primary resort backdrop. Anantara Bophut is the relevant property for the lobby and arrival architecture. Anantara Lawana is the place associated with the White Lotus bar, while Anantara Mai Khao is the Phuket property connected to the wellness storyline and Belinda’s villa.
That distinction is especially important when comparing geography. Koh Samui and Phuket are separate destinations, and the resort shown as one continuous place cannot be walked from its pool to its wellness sanctuary in the way the show may suggest.

The result is one of the season’s most effective production illusions. Viewers see a single luxury resort, but the fictional property is actually a carefully edited map of Thailand: primarily Koh Samui, supplemented by Phuket and Bangkok.
