The season expands the show’s business, family and cartel conflicts after Tommy takes on greater responsibility at M-Tex. It also gives Cami Miller a larger role, pushes Cooper toward his own oil venture and turns Andy Garcia’s cartel character, Gallino, into a more significant presence.
Spoiler warning: The cast and character guide below discusses the Season 1 finale and the story setup for Season 2.

| Michelle Randolph | Ainsley Norris | Tommy and Angela’s daughter, who returns with greater maturity after the difficult events of Season 1. |

Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris
Thornton remains the series’ lead as Tommy, an M-Tex landman and problem-solver whose job has become considerably more complicated. After the Season 1 finale leaves him in charge of M-Tex operations, Tommy must manage corporate responsibilities, pressure from the cartel and worsening family problems at the same time.
Demi Moore as Cami Miller
Moore’s Cami has a substantially larger presence in Season 2. As the widow of former M-Tex chief Monty Miller, Cami is not simply reacting to Tommy’s rise. Her farm-out proposal gives her an independent business agenda and places her in a more direct contest with Tommy over the company’s future.
Ali Larter as Angela Norris
Angela returns as Tommy’s ex-wife. The Season 1 ending reopens the possibility of a closer relationship between them, but reconciliation is complicated by Tommy’s work, the cartel danger surrounding M-Tex and the pressures affecting their family.
Jacob Lofland as Cooper Norris
Cooper’s story grows beyond his early work on an M-Tex drilling crew. He wants to make his own way in the oil business and pursues a higher-risk venture, with his relationship with Ariana influencing some of those choices.

Ainsley returns as Tommy and Angela’s daughter. Paramount+’s character description presents her as more mature after the experiences of Season 1, although she remains closely tied to the family tensions created by Tommy’s work and personal life.
Paulina Chávez as Ariana
Ariana was introduced as the young widow whose husband, Elvio, died in the opening oil-field explosion. Her connection with Cooper continues in Season 2, keeping her central to one of the show’s intersections between personal grief, family loyalty and the oil patch.
Kayla Wallace as Rebecca Falcone
Rebecca remains M-Tex’s attorney and vice president of exploration. Her professional skepticism toward Tommy and her objections to fracking make her an important counterweight inside the company, particularly as M-Tex faces more aggressive business and criminal pressures.
Rank #2
Mark Collie and James Jordan
Mark Collie returns as Sheriff Walt Joeberg, who must navigate the relationship between local law enforcement and the region’s dominant oil company. James Jordan is also back as Dale Bradley, Tommy’s petroleum-engineer friend and M-Tex colleague.
New and newly promoted Season 2 regulars
Season 2 adds one major new family member and gives two familiar faces regular-cast status. The distinctions matter: Colm Feore and Andy Garcia are not making their first appearances in the series.
Sam Elliott as T.L. Norris
Sam Elliott joins the regular cast as T.L. Norris, Tommy’s father. His arrival adds another generation to the Norris family and gives the season a new way to examine Tommy’s decisions, responsibilities and difficult family relationships.
Colm Feore as Nathan
Colm Feore is newly a Season 2 regular as Nathan, an M-Tex attorney who handles the company’s legal and administrative problems. Nathan is not a brand-new character: he appeared in Season 1 before being promoted to the regular cast for the second season.
Andy Garcia as Gallino
Andy Garcia returns as Gallino, the powerful cartel figure who first appeared in the Season 1 finale. Season 2 makes Gallino’s relationship with Tommy and M-Tex a much larger part of the story. Garcia therefore belongs in the Season 2 regular-cast group, but he is not a first-time performer on the show.

Additional recurring Season 2 performers
Trade reports identified several additional recurring additions beyond the three regular-cast changes:
- Stefania Spampinato plays Gallino’s wife.
- Guy Burnet plays Charlie Newsom, a charming oil-and-gas engineer.
- Miriam Silverman plays Greta Stidham, an intimidating university admissions counselor.
Episode-level and database listings may include other performers, but those credits should be treated as secondary unless Paramount+ or the studio identifies a character as part of the headline or regular cast. Database listings can be useful for completeness, but they should not override the official cast billing.

Does Jon Hamm return to Landman Season 2?
Jon Hamm does not return as Monty Miller in the conventional Season 2 cast. Monty’s Season 1 storyline ends with his death, and cast guides identify Hamm as absent from the second season. That means readers should not expect Monty to resume his role as an active character.
This does not rule out a flashback or archival appearance in a specific episode, but such an appearance should not be assumed without episode-level credit information. The accurate cast answer is that Hamm is not a returning Season 2 regular as Monty.
Why the Season 2 cast changes matter
The casting reflects the story’s shift after Monty’s medical crisis and death. Tommy is elevated within M-Tex, so the show needs more characters who can challenge or support him in the company’s legal, financial and operational battles. Nathan’s promotion strengthens the corporate side of the ensemble, while Cami’s expanded role gives Tommy a powerful business rival with a personal connection to the company.
T.L. Norris adds a direct family pressure point for Tommy. Gallino’s promotion from Season 1 finale guest to Season 2 regular expands the cartel conflict beyond a threat at the edge of the story. At the same time, Cooper’s independent venture ensures that the season is not only about Tommy’s corporate and criminal problems: it also follows the next generation trying to find a place in the oil business.
