In the U.S., The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare was primarily a digital rental or purchase title in 2024—not a movie that viewers should assume was included with a standard streaming subscription. Lionsgate released Guy Ritchie’s action-comedy in theaters on April 19, 2024, followed by premium digital availability in May and electronic-sell-through listings in June. The film was also released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
Amazon Video, Apple TV, Google Play, Microsoft, Fandango at Home, and Xfinity were among the listed digital destinations. Availability, price, subtitles, resolution, and subscription access varied by country and could change over time.
Where to watch The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare in the U.S.
For the 2024 U.S. release window, the most reliable way to watch the film at home was to rent or buy it digitally. Lionsgate’s official movie page listed these digital destinations:
- Amazon Video
- Apple TV
- Google Play
- Microsoft
- Fandango at Home
- Xfinity
These listings represented transactional access: a rental, a digital purchase, or—in some cases—a channel-based option. They should not automatically be described as free viewing through a standard subscription such as Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, or another service.

If you are ready to watch, check the movie’s Amazon Video listing for the access choices currently shown in your location. The available option may be a rental, a purchase, or a subscription-channel offer, and the exact choices can differ between territories.
Digital rental and purchase options
Amazon Video
Amazon was an official digital destination for the movie in 2024. Depending on location and the date checked, the title page could show rental, purchase, or channel-based access. The existence of a listing on Prime Video did not by itself mean that the film was included with the base Prime membership.
For U.S. readers, confirm the wording on the title page before paying: look for whether the button says rent, buy, or watch through an add-on channel. Prices and HD or 4K availability are subject to change.
Apple TV, Google Play, Microsoft, Fandango at Home, and Xfinity
Lionsgate also listed Apple TV, Google Play, Microsoft, Fandango at Home, and Xfinity as digital watch-now destinations. These services generally functioned as storefronts for renting or buying the film rather than proof of inclusion in a general streaming plan.

- Rental period: how long you have to begin watching and how long playback remains available after starting.

- Language options: subtitles, captions, and audio tracks can vary by storefront and territory.
Was the movie free with Amazon Prime?
Not necessarily. In 2024, Prime Video availability depended on the country and the specific listing. In some markets, the film was associated with Prime Video’s streaming rollout; elsewhere, the title page could offer only a rental, purchase, or subscription-channel route.

The safe U.S. guidance is to open the local Prime Video listing and verify whether the film is:
- included with the standard Prime subscription;
- available through a paid add-on channel;
- available to rent; or
- available to purchase.
Do not treat an Amazon listing or a Prime Video search result as confirmation of no-cost Prime access. Subscription catalogs and channel rights are territory-specific.

International Prime Video availability
Prime Video began carrying the film in selected international markets on July 25, 2024. That date does not establish worldwide availability and should not be used to promise that the film was included with U.S. Prime membership.
Streaming rights differ by country. A viewer outside the U.S. should search the local Prime Video catalog and check the title’s access label. A film may be included in one country, offered as a rental or purchase in another, and unavailable in a third.

4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD
Physical editions were another way to watch the movie at home. Lionsgate listed releases in all three formats:
- 4K Ultra HD for compatible 4K televisions and players;
- Blu-ray for standard Blu-ray equipment; and
- DVD for DVD players and compatible drives.
The physical release date was June 25, 2024. Retailer listings also identified a limited 4K SteelBook edition. Inventory, packaging, bonus features, and digital-copy terms can vary, so verify the exact edition before ordering.
A disc may make more sense than a digital rental if you want a permanent copy, higher-bitrate playback, bonus material, or the ability to watch without relying on a service’s current streaming license. The trade-off is the upfront purchase cost and the need for compatible hardware.
Collectors can compare the movie’s 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD editions before choosing a format.
Availability changes after 2024
This guide preserves the film’s 2024 release chronology. Streaming catalogs are volatile, so a current listing should not be mistaken for a historical record of where the movie was available in 2024.

If this article is updated for a later year, the cleanest approach is to add a dated “Where to watch now” box while retaining this separate 2024 timeline. That prevents a later catalog change from rewriting the film’s original home-release history.

Directed and co-written by Guy Ritchie, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare stars Henry Cavill, Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Babs Olusanmokun, Henrique Zaga, Til Schweiger, Henry Golding, and Cary Elwes.
Lionsgate describes it as an action-comedy inspired by the World War II creation of a British special-operations organization and the wartime activities connected with Winston Churchill, military officials, and author Ian Fleming. The film draws on Damien Lewis’s nonfiction book Churchill’s Secret Warriors.

Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →It is best understood as a heavily dramatized story inspired by true events, not a documentary or a literal reconstruction of the historical mission. The Associated Press described the movie as a fictionalized treatment of a real wartime operation. It carries an R rating for strong violence and language, so it is not suitable for children simply because its story is set during World War II.
The book provides a useful follow-up for viewers who want more historical context after watching the fictionalized action story. It should be treated as a separate nonfiction account rather than as a guarantee that every character, event, or scene in the film appears in the same form in the book.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where could I stream The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare in the U.S. in 2024?
In the 2024 U.S. home-release window, the film was primarily available to rent or buy digitally through destinations listed by Lionsgate, including Amazon Video, Apple TV, Google Play, Microsoft, Fandango at Home, and Xfinity. It was not automatically included with a standard streaming subscription.
Was The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare free with Prime Video?
Not universally. Prime Video access depended on territory and could mean standard subscription access, an add-on channel, a rental, or a purchase. U.S. viewers needed to check the dated local title listing rather than assume Prime inclusion.
When did the 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD versions come out?
The 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD editions were scheduled for June 25, 2024. A limited 4K SteelBook edition was also reported.
Is The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare a documentary?
No. It is a Guy Ritchie action-comedy inspired by real World War II events and based in part on Damien Lewis’s nonfiction book, but it is a fictionalized and heavily dramatized film.
The Bottom Line
For the 2024 U.S. release: watch The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare by renting or buying it digitally, or choose the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, or DVD release. Prime Video access was territory-dependent and should not be described as a free U.S. Prime benefit without a dated listing confirming it.
