To Infinity and Beyond

Documentary examines the current thinking about very large numbers and infinity when it comes to mathematics and the observable universe. For the third year, most of us have learned to count. Once we know how, it seems as if there was nothing to stop us counting forever. But while the idea may seem infinite perfectly innocent, continue to count and get into a paradoxical world where nothing is what it seems. Mathematicians have discovered that there are an infinite number of infinities, each of them infinitely greater than the last. And if the universe is forever, the consequences are even more bizarre. In an infinite universe, there are an infinite number of copies of copies of Earth and infinitely many of you. Over time, larger than the universe stranger than fiction. This is the story of the infinite.
