Morgan Freeman hosts this polarized debate, where scientists and spiritualists attempt to define what is consciousness, while new quantum mechanics may be the answer to what happens when we die.

Ancient Egyptian and Chaldean Magi tried to conjure the dead and talk to them, and God specifically forbade the ancient Hebrews from engaging in the practice in Deuteronomy 18:10-11.

In the timeless epic The Odyssey, Homer describes his hero Ulysses cast spells according to the instructions of the sorceress Circe, in an effort to speak with the dead prophet Tiresias and assistance to return home win.
