  1. Frank Arcoleo says:

Republicans come in two varieties — frauds and fools. Frauds are those who pretend to do things on principle, when they really do it to benefit themselves. Generally, they want low taxes because their taxes will be low. They want to cut social benefits because they don’t need them (perhaps only at that moment). They are what they are because it benefits them, but they claim that that their view is right on principle. The second kind of Republican is the fool. They’ve swallowed the argument of the frauds so that they think they agree with the (often great sounding) principles espoused by the frauds. It was difficult to say which variety the film’s stars exhibit. If we knew more about them (what they do for a living, what they get out of the system, what about Republican points of view directly benefit them or their families) we could sort them into the proper category. But based purely on their comments, I’d say they’re all fools. And the Republicans will be happy to have them. How pathetic.

  2. Rutagengwa says:

You start out in 1954 by saying, “Nigger, nigger, nigger.” By 1968 you can’t say “nigger”—that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states’ rights and all that stuff. You’re getting so abstract now [that] you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites.
And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I’m not saying that. But I’m saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me—because obviously sitting around saying, “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “Nigger, nigger” in Southern Politics in the 1990s by Prof. Alexander P. Lamis,

    LEE ATWATER

The truth is that there was very little that was subconscious about the G.O.P.’s relentless appeal to racist whites. Tired of losing elections, it saw an opportunity to renew itself by opening its arms wide to white voters who could never forgive the Democratic Party for its support of civil rights and voting rights for blacks.”

    Bob Herbert

My dear frien i guess that you are the one who is ignorant about history
in Southern Politics in the 1990s by Prof. Alexander P. Lamis,

  3. Rutagengwa says:

I don’t think that all blacks should have identical political views , of course but any black who is conservative, republican or tea party has some problems with reality.
The civil rights legislations where opposed by the dixiecrats that ended up being republicans. the shift of the southern segregationist democrats s toward the republican party started with the candidacy of Storm Thurmond in 1948.
In 1968 Lee Atwater plotted the southern strategy that have been instrument in the electoral victories of republicans since Nixon.
It was the use of code word to mobilise the white bigots . Do you remember the ads
Reagan : “states’ rights” codewords of opposition to federal enforcement of civil rights for blacks and intervention on their behalf, including passage of legislation to protect the franchise.
    The Welfare queens (all blacks??’)
    G H Bush : Willie Horton
    And the birthers against Obama.
My dear friend I think that you are the one who doesn’t know nanything about history
    Jessie

  4. Travis says:

@rutagengwa: This might be the most ignorant comment I have ever seen in a long time. You might be the biggest racist I have ever seen commenting on anything of this sort. Since when do you think for all black people and tell them they are “sell-outs, uncle toms or idiots” because they actually think and make decisions for themselves. They dont listen to party nonsense from liberals they actually look at policies and the effects of them and decide for themselves what actually works and what doesn’t.

Before you accuse me of being a Republican, I am a libertarian just for your information. The liberal party in the US has for years since the 60′s claimed to represent black’s and minorities. Well do a little research and you will find the most liberal controlled states and cities have the biggest crime rates and massive poverty in minority communities. They dont help people achieve a better standard of living. Their policies make people slaves to handouts and to the state. These brave black Republicans are critically examining this history and realizing this does not work. Look up who actually opposed civil rights legislation in the US in the 60′s. Look up George Wallace and the party he was apart of. Look up early 20th century progressivism and what it stood for. Look up margret singer and what she wanted to acheive through abortion. She spoke at a Klan rally as well. Learn history before letting the ignorance spill from your brain through your keyboard.

  5. Rutagengwa says:

Well i can understand someone who is a republican, i can stand a black blue dog (time to time) but i do recognize sellouts when I see then.
The GOP has been cosying willingly with all kinds of racists, social darwinists, war mongerers, religious fundamentalist that are not different from the wahabis.
Let say it a black republican is like an anti-zionist jew : a sellout, an uncle tom or simple as it is an idiot
