Visionaries: In Grave Danger of Falling Food
Permaculture is a bit of everything. For some it is the architecture, the other, organic farming. Some say it is a philosophy and way of life, others believe it is their only hope.
Permaculture is a design system, but the principles of engineering that remains are those of life. Earth evolved from dust and gas in the energy and made a huge hydrogen furnace known as the sun, a life system powerful enough to colonize an entire planet was born.
Mollison visited and saw a process model. Here was a system that was stable and fertile, however, became increasingly complex … and this is how it is believed Mollison own environment should be.

polluted air…. WAKE THE F*** UP PEOPLE
to be one of the most important videos on youtube soon.. but we DONT wait for an economic/environmental castastrophy to occur before we decide to adopt this kind of thinking… We have the potential to live beautifully and harmoniously with nature and each other, we have abundant resources (for now) to set up acres of food forests, aquaculture systems, and urban market and community gardens… why don’t we leave something pleasant for our children instead of unfishable rivers, degraded soil and
we take responsibility for how we live on an individual level… and that doesn’t just mean that we get energy efficiant light bulbs and hybrid cars… we have to take responsibiliy for everything we eat, say, think and do, every moment… stop waiting for other people to change and YOU be the example you want to see in the world!! If you read this and it resonates with you PLEASE post this video to your friends and family or to anyone that you think it might resonate with… this may well prove
***5 months.. and i’m not some tired, self-righteous old 60 year old im only 23!!! It just shows how out of touch with nature and insane the western world has become.. gone are the days that people valued thrift and resourcefullness, thought for themselves and took responsibility for their own existance… So many people these days are just sticking their heads in the sand or are waiting for someone else to do something about the multiple crisises that we are facing… things can only change if
I have been absolutely obsessed with permaculture for 3 years now, spent about months in total at the permaculture research institute in northern NSW. I own a small business designing and installing edible and productive gardens for people around the suburbs of Perth in western Australia IT IS ABSOLUTELY BEYOND ME HOW THIS VIDEO HAS NOT GOT MORE VIEWS!!! how the hell can something that makes so much sense from a sustainability standpoint go so unnoticed like this!?! its been up 3 years!
Where to find subtitles? A least in english, so it could be translated, etc.
I so wish I could hear what Bill is saying. Could someone please cc his videos someday??
I love the sense of interconnectedness that Bill Mollison and the other permaculture advocates utilize. I also agree that USA, Europe and the other powerhouse nations are going to end utilizing permacutlure in order to survive. Because the mega-corporations sure as Hell aren’t going to help us.
Bill Mollison: Good Bastard!
A must watch for anyone interested in feeding future generations.
I noticed that the video doesn’t match up with the last one in the series, it has skipped the house that was at the end of video three which is too bad because that’s a great system that was built there.
i agree… it’s very liberating really… we all could be growing our own food with only very modest resources!… it’s scary how far humanity has managed to stray from natures perfect efficiency in such a small amount of time… we need consciousness raising now, to make people all over the world realize that they truly can be empowered and self-sufficient…
i love this perspective that people all over the world have the tools and knowledge to manage their land, they just need to come together. the permaculture specialist is a consultant but doesnt necessarily take the role of savior.
