Maids for Sale: Silicon Valley’s Online Slave Market

This was one of the big Silicone Valley scandals in 2019. According to a report by BBC, domestic workers have been illegally sold via social media apps. Google and Apple stores approved the apps that have been used for selling.

In a way, tech giants enabled an illegal online salve market by providing and approving apps used for buying and selling of domestic workers.
