Do you remember when was the last time you used a CD-Rom? Or does anyone remember the good old floppy disk? Our memory is dissipating. For the first time in history, we have all the technology we need to save our entire past. And yet, it seems like it is going up in smoke.

This documentary tracks down the amnesiac zeitgeist starting at the Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam, whose world-famous 250-year old library was lost to budget cuts.

The fact of the matter is that our globalized world causes societies, economies, and cultures to seek new balance. The documentary tries to show what these new features are. How our digital world is changing and evolving?

Society has always had a type of amnesia where most of what is written is lost. Nowadays we produce more media than ever. If we manage to save just one percent of that, we will have saved more than any other era in history.
