The race to the Moon marked the battle between the Soviet Union and the United States in the 1960s. It was right in the middle of the Cold War.

The United States were the first one to send a crew and land on the Moon. Apollo 11 achieved that feat on July 20, 1969. Some say the moon landing was a hoax, but nowadays, we know it is a true and real event.

The race was a tight one. The Soviet Union achieved an early lead in the Space Race by launching the satellite Sputnik 1 in 1957.

This documentary takes a look at all of the important events of the moon race. From Sputnik to Apollo 11, what transpired between.

The Moon race was the most dangerous and difficult venture human kind has ever attempted. Now, we have the race to Mars, but that is far from over.
