In the account of Trudell, Rae spent more than 12 years traveling to the chronicle of John Trudell, the spoken word, and politics. (The filming of the movie, a trip in itself, is as much a story as the finished product).
The film combines files, convert, and images of the interview in a lyrical, stylized, of course, with abstract images that reflected the nature of Trudell coyote.
Peppered with adversity, offset by preservance, Trudell began in the sixties when John Trudell and a community group, Indians of all tribes occupy Alcatraz Island for 21 months. This creates the international recognition of the American Indian cause and gives birth to contemporary Indian people’s movement.
Rae returns to Alcatraz, returning to what John refers to as his birth. Alcatraz, we political journey of John as the national spokesperson for the American Indian Movement (AIM).
During this tumultuous period, his work makes him one of the most highly subversive politics of the 1970s, earning him one of the FBI files in history (over 17,000 pages). 1st i’m not Mr Trudell , i choose to be human without labels and i posted this video out of sharing respect for others . We should all learn to be open to all views and Trudell to me . share insight on a much needed view not cover much till now. You can choose a label for your self and many do , the question is only your level of fear and what group supports it . Live without fear and understand the world that is in front of you , with out the walls of old. Peace =)

Don’t know about the ants but I do understand we are the new world order , its up to the masses who we choose to empower in the end . it is why Fear and war drums are on the beat because few will empower them selves to take a stand in these times . “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” rings true in these times , Just stay Human and its not to us to judge others . Amazing footage and knowledge. The American people are living a lie and do not even know it. @TheSerenityhuck I agree. A crazy idea: what if non-natives bought property adjacent to reservations & had it legally added to sovereign tribal lands, making them bigger & bigger? Everyone would have to agree to live under tribal govt & culture or be evicted. I know it’s as likely to really happen as Elvis coming back but I think we need to think outside the box & learn from ppl like John b4 it’s too late. When Redford mentions how taken he was by the fact that US government would try to dismantle & decimate a culture by first stripping it of their spirit I thought that it was quite evident that the American government took the strongest side of the natives of this land, and that is what they attacked & tried to “take down” in their incredible arrogance. They actually sought to take down the most important and esteemed leader of the American Indian – Spirit.

PS I am damn proud…. p-r-o-u-d…of my grandfathers and being a “non-white” person. hehe! Love them so much. They didnt talk much about their families. Being here in the south there was no comfortable place or way to speak of it. But they are/were GREAT men. GENETIC memory. Right on. I pray for my last grandfather. I hope for him right NOW. 80 years old. Heart surgery tomorra. I will work in the factory and hope for the best. But I will always be proud. This DVD is well worth buying. xx ♥
