The Buddha. The history of Buddhism is the story of a man’s spiritual journey of enlightenment and the teachings and life forms that evolved from it. Siddhartha Gautama – Buddha. A life of luxury. Siddhartha Gautama was born around 580 BC in the village of Lumbini in Nepal.
