Literally burned by its proximity to the Sun, Mercury and Venus are hostile worlds.
One started with the craters from cosmic collisions, and the other, a vortex of sulfur dioxide, carbon and acid rain.
Prime examples of planets gone awry, do these serve as a warning for ominous scenarios that could someday threaten Earth?
Vanguard uses computer graphics to show what life on other planets & to imagine what kind of life forms might evolve in this alien atmosphere.
The Inner Planets: Mercury and Venus, 2.9 out of 5 based on 9 ratings
Well Pluto can’t clear it’s neighborhoods orbit alone, what makes it not a planet. Mercury has no known moons what means no gravity, and has no Atmosphere. What should not be a planet
I normally love these sort of shows, but this wasn’t the best. “Planets gone wrong?” A little hyperbolic there, guys. But I still learned something new, which is what matters.
I stopped watching this shit after one minute: they mixed up the names “Venus” and “Merkur” just twice in the beginning of this episode, at 0:21 and at 0:44.
Whoops, I have to make a correction to my previous comment. I said that the intensity of solar radiation per square foot, at the orbit of Venus, was approximately triple what it is at the orbit of Earth. It should have been approximately double not triple.. .sorry.
I always enjoy science documentaries but must the “Climate Change” mantra invade everything. So Venus is an example of runaway global warming right? And the fact that the intensity of solar radiation is approximately 3 times more powerful per square foot at the orbit of Venus than at Earth’s orbit has nothing to do with it. I even heard one of the experts in this documentary say that Venus once had oceans like Earth. Really? Wwhere is he getting this information? All you “Climate Change” faithful should watch “The Great Global Warming Swindle”… just watch it all the way through, check the facts, and see what you think. Please!!!
suck that
thats not earths evil twin its the earths future self what a horrible place to live
Never mind the fact that Venus is a ton closer to the sun…..

PLEASE WATCH THIS VIDEO!!it is a perfectly scaled zoom out of the universe. it will absolutely blow your mind./watch?v=xeIVGx7wpNwso epic it hurts.
Why does every single episode waste our time by hypothesizing about meteor impacts? O_o
lol
Anicent anuses?
you should try watching Through the wormhole and Ancient Aliens
Ha ha ha ha! “Befuddle”…..thats now the word of the day in the office!
lol!
It’s not two different mistakes, but the same mistake made twice. Besides, it may have been just a small screwup of the editor and not anyone else.
Love this show astronomy is so interesting.
lol. pause at 6:31 , then open the Interactive Transcript that’s just below the video and follow the text at 6:35
that makes no since Mercury spins in 59 days not 180 days and Venus spins even slower than Mercury (225 days)
maybe they did it to see if you were even paying attention?

I live on Neptune. You are my pet. Have a lie day.
