The series uses time-lapse sequences extensively to provide knowledge that would otherwise be nearly impossible. Plants live in a different time scale, and although his life is very complex and often surprising, most of it is invisible to humans unless events that happen for months or even years are shown in seconds. Like many traditional wildlife documentaries, which makes almost no use of computer animation. The series also discusses fungi, but as noted, they do not belong to the realm of plants. The mechanisms of evolution are taught transparently, showing the advantages of different types of plant behavior in action.Adaptations are often complex, as is evident that the environment to which plants must adapt not only understands the soil, water and climate, but also from other plants, fungi, insects and other animals and even humans . The series shows that the strategies of cooperation are often much more effective than predators, as they often lead to prey developing methods of self defense – from plants growing spikes to insects learning to recognize the mime . However, humans can avoid all these rules of nature, so Attenborough concludes with a call to preserve plants, for the sake of self-preservation.

The ascent of man is a thirteen-part documentary series produced television by the BBC and Time-Life Films first broadcast in 1973, written and presented by Jacob Bronowski.Conceived as a series of documentaries of view in the form of Kenneth Clark’s Civilisation series 1969, the series received the applause of well-informed analysis, but simple eloquence of Bronowski, unscripted monologues long and extensive location shoots. The title alludes to The Descent of Man, the second book on evolution by Charles Darwin. Over thirteen episodes of the series, Bronowski around the world to follow the development of human society through their understanding of science.Series schedule:The evolution of man from ape-proto 400,000 years ago – less than the angels. The harvest of the season – early human migration, agriculture and the first settlements, war.The grain of the stone – development tools architecture and sculpture. The hidden structure – The fire, metals and alchemy.Music of the Spheres – The language of numbers. The Starry Messenger – Galileo’s universe.Majestic mechanics – Explore Newton’s laws and Einstein. The drive for power – the Industrial Revolution. The ladder of Creation – Darwin and Wallace’s ideas on the origin of species.World within the world – The history of the periodic table.Knowledge or certainty – Physics and the clash of absolute knowledge, the oppressive state, and realize their doubts the result of its terrible outcome.Generation after generation – life, genetics and cloning identically. The long childhood – treated Bronowski on the commitment of man."

For over 1,000 years, the Byzantine Empire was the eye of the world – the origin of great literature, fine art and modern government. Heir to Greece and Rome, the Byzantine Empire was also the first Christian empire. After a year of filming on three continents, TLC unlocks this ancient civilization, spanning 11 centuries and three continents. Pass through the gates of Constantinople, explore the magnificent mosque of Hagia Sophia and see the looted treasures of the empire is now in San Marco, Venice.Byzantium, gives life to an empire that, though seemingly distant, is closely linked to the evolution of Western civilization. A review of the emergence of the first Christian empire, which lasted over a thousand years and the maturity and decline of Byzantium, through its conquest by the Ottoman Turks in 1453.John Romer, the author and on-screen guide of the series, breathes life into the city and the powerful ideas that made the Byzantium a thriving cultural and commercial center while western Europe was painfully through the Middle Ages the Middle Ages.At its height, Byzantium is the most precious Christian relics, including a piece of the cross of Christ. Located on the border of Europe and Asia, who ruled an empire that stretched across Asia Minor and the Balkans. Then, after the advent of Islam, the empire shrank until little was left outside the city walls.Byzantium turned to Europe for help in the fight against the infidels, only to have its own city sacked by the Crusaders whose help is sought. Venice, its main trading partner of old, took many of his works of art. The Hagia Sophia, originally built as a Christian church, became Istanbul’s most famous mosque. And the scholars who had kept alive the study of Greek for more than a millennium fled to Europe, where he helped lay the groundwork for the rebirth. Byzantium, the video takes us on a visual journey of luxury to key locations throughout the empire, while putting a human face on the key players in the history of this unique and vital empire. I never suspected I would find this story as compelling as it turned out to be.

Dr Alice Roberts asks one of the great questions of our species: Are we still evolving? There is no doubt that we are a product of millions of years of evolution. But thanks to modern technology and medicine, we miss Darwin’s law of survival of the fittest?Alice follows a trail of clues to ancient human bones, the remarkable studies of people living in the most inhospitable areas of the planet, to the frontiers of genetic research to find out if they are still developing – and which could be the game.

Where did everything come from? How did it all begin, the universe and everything? Easy. There was a big bang, 13.7bn years ago, since when the universe has been expanding, right? Well, that used to be correct. But now a bunch of pointy heads are beginning to question this, and Horizon: What Happened Before the Big Bang? attempts to put their thinking across in a way that might make some sense to those of us whose heads are less pointy.

In the wilds of ice devastated Europe about 25,000 years before Christ, a war like no other series lasted between two species of primitive men. In a unique moment in world history, these two species, Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon (Homo sapiens), competed for resources and for a permanent seat on the top of the animal kingdom. It was an epic battle of the brains of muscle strength that determined the course of human history. In this scenario, based on scientific theories, the testimony of our prehistoric ancestors as they collide with a totally different kind of humans, the Neanderthals, about 30,000 years ago the ice age in Europe. In clash of cavemen, film recreations and the state of the art CGI bring to life of the Neanderthals, robust, powerful and able to tolerate pain and their enemies, the Cro-Magnon, the weaker and more fragile, but with a superior brain capable of complex thought. This documentary film-quality story used the latest scientific advances to create the atmosphere and the risks were: huge quadrupedal predators, punishing temperatures, and the relentless threat of starvation.Cutting-edge research archaeologists and anthropologists, including data from the ongoing project of mapping the Neanderthal genome at Max Planck Institute of Germany s, when given to realism and accuracy to this struggle until the final catastrophic.

Imagine a world like ours, only 6.5 light years away – but filled with life forms unlike anything found on Earth. Take a simulated trip in the near future, where astronomers and biologists alike admire the potential to Darwin IV, a nearby planet with two suns, 60% gravity and an atmosphere capable of supporting life.Having identified Darwin as a likely home for life, scientists send a series of unmanned probes to the planet. Initially, the expectation is to find microscopic life. But the probes soon find themselves in the middle of a developed ecosystem, filled with various creatures of all sizes.Looking through the “eyes” of the probes, marvel strange inhabitants of the planet – like the heavy Groveback, which supports a small forest vegetation in the rear; Prongheads deadly hunt in packs, like wolves, and the elegant Gyrosprinter, an elk-like creature with a body of luminescent biolights points. The look and the biology of each animal is based on the laws of evolution and physics, then the model to fit the hypothetical environment of Darwin IV. Leading experts in the fields of paleontology, astrophysics and astrobiology explain how these creatures could evolve the characteristics of another world, such as hollow bodies, propulsion “jet” and skewers pierced tongue.

An interesting documentary about the future of the human species. This is a documentary about a controversial theory about the mechanism that led to the evolution of humans from primates to modern man, challenging the currently accepted premise of evolution. There is also speculation about the future evolutionary path of mankind.Homo Futurus is controversial because it presents a theory on the mechanism for the evolution of humans from primates to modern man who is clearly non-Darwinian.The theory proposes challenges currently accepted evolution premise that genetic mutations and environmental pressures are the main influences for natural selection. There is also speculation about long-term future evolutionary path of mankind. So get ready to take a look at the faces of our children.

Human evolution is believed to have begun about six million years ago. Despite the passage of much time, the amount of diversity between the DNA of all humans is minimal. Some 75,000 years ago that left something apocalyptic humans occurred in relation to life for a few to continue the species. The cause of this bottleneck is now believed to have been a massive volcanic eruption on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. The eruption of a super site of Lake Toba in Sumatra attacked more than two hundred cubic kilometers of ash over an area of over one million square kilometers. This program explores the devastating consequences of the most powerful volcano in the last twenty-five million years – including the theory that led to a human genetic bottleneck, leaving a small group, as low as a few thousand survivors to preserve the human race – and sees the threat of super-volcanoes in the 21st century.

There are some who believe that Darwin's theory of evolution has weakened religion, fuelled in part by Richard Dawkins' publishing phenomenon The God Delusion. Conor Cunningham argues that nothing could be further from the truth.Cunningham is a firm believer in the theory of evolution, but he is also a Christian. He believes that the clash between Darwin and God has been hijacked by extremists - fundamentalist believers who reject evolution on one side, and fundamentalist atheists on the other. Cunningham attempts to overturn what he believes are widely held but mistaken assumptions in the debate between religion and evolution. He travels to the Middle East where he shows that from the very outset, Christianity warned against literal readings of the biblical story of creation. In Britain, he reveals that, at the time, Darwin's theory of evolution was welcomed by the Anglican and Catholic Churches. Instead, he argues that the conflict between Darwin and God was manufactured by American creationists in the 20th century for reasons that had very little to do with science and religion and a great deal to do with politics and morality. Finally, he comes face to face with some of the most eminent evolutionary biologists, geneticists and philosophers of our time to examine whether the very latest advances in evolutionary theory do in fact kill God.

It has long been considered the most pressing issue of our history: Where did humans come from? Although life has existed for millions of years, only in the past century and a half we have begun to use science to explore the ancestral roots of our own species. The search for the ultimate answer has taken a series of twists and turns, with careers made and broken on the road. Ape to man is the story of the quest to find the origins of the human race – a quest that spanned more than 150 years of obsessive searching Searching for the origins of mankind is a history of bone and feature stories .It was in 1856 that the first bones of extinct human ancestor were encountered, discovered by a team of unskilled workers to excavate the limestone in Western Europe. The finding, to be known as Neanderthal Man, was seeing the light of day for the first time in more than 40,000 years. At that time, the concept of a previous human species was virtually unthinkable. However, only a few years later, the work of Charles Darwin, The Origin of Species first broached the subject of evolution, and by the end of the nineteenth century had become the hottest topic of the day.Adventurers had embarked on the search for the missing link, the only creature that represents the evolutionary leap from apes to humans. Ape to Man examines the major discoveries that have led to the understanding we have today, including theories that never gained full acceptance of his time, an elaborate hoax that confused the scientific community for years, and understanding short of the key elements that separate man from apes.

1.7 million years ago in Africa, Homo ergaster, an ancient predecessor of modern humans, had to dig to survive. They lived in the elements among the monsters of the era, such as saber-toothed cat. Over time, early humans evolved and developed simple tools, began to communicate, and learned to control their most important tool: fire. However, the monsters were still there. 300,000 years ago, Homo erectus learned to hunt the giant Irish elk, the use of fire to drive these great beasts through a narrow gorge and over a cliff. While the best hunting skills, proximity is still a need to kill a huge beast. 40,000 years ago, Neanderthals were on top of their form, hunting of animals like the giant steppe bison. The Neanderthals were usurped by an entirely new race of humans, the Cro-Magnon. They adapted and survived when the Neanderthals could not.

This very well produced documentary explores the origins of life and then looks at where we are today and what we now need to do to avoid transforming our planet into a place where we can no longer survive. We see here a no nonsense view which is very easy to watch with great pictorial views.Water is one of the key resources considered since life is made up of this matter. This film is a profit free distribution in order to promulgate the message to as many people as possible…we all need each other…all our lives hang in the balance. We are living in exceptional times. Scientists tell us that we have 10 years to change the way we live, avert the depletion of natural resources and the catastrophic evolution of the Earth’s climate.

From the author: The use of satire, research and common sense, common sense explores questions about God.A former Christian 30 years, ultimately, found that religion, faith and writing had no real answers, especially in light (bright) scientific discoveries and the truth of Evolution by Natural Selection.Having an insider’s view of Christianity, I use my skills as a producer to stir the pot of debate and, hopefully, be detrimental to any person to be a mere spectator in the field of ideas.Note: This is not a documentary film in the strict sense. These are professionally edited short clips collected from a YouTube channel called The atheistic thought.

Mitochondrial DNA will be passed from mothers to children, both male along with female, with no changes and mutates at a predictable rate, since the origin of the people.Using these facts, some scientists are mastering the mitochondrial DNA to try and trace the origins from the human race.Using this method, scientists have mapped people to a woman in Africa millions of years ago. Then they traced the migration patterns in their descendants are spread through the land. The Real Eve is really a fascinating documentary that offers a controversial new hypothesis of human evolution. It does what all good documentaries try to do: it makes you think and entertains while doing so.

For years scientists have been trying to find the mysterious key teacher responsible for the evolutionary transformation of the dinosaurs in the world of winners. In the early Jurassic, 200 million years ago, were a relatively small group of primitive creatures. By the late Jurassic, 50 million years later, he had become the magnificent array of carnivores and giant plant eaters that dominate the planet for millions of years. In between lies the mysterious Middle Jurassic period in which all these changes must have occurred. But what were they? What was it that transformed the dinosaurs? Was there a terrible mass extinction? If there had been a striking change in the environment? All this was speculation and theory. How and where evidence come to light? Middle Jurassic fossils are very rare. All one had to go to a few outcrops of rock were scattered throughout the world smaller. Here is a treasure trove of fossils emerged in the middle of a desert of Argentina in the 1990s, thousands of square kilometers in the mid-Jurassic. In his first season in the field, Oliver Rauhut paleontologist and his team unearthed two carnivorous dinosaurs and giant six huge long-necked dinosaurs. And there’s more: the first mammals, crocodiles, fish and even plant life. They had discovered a complete Middle Jurassic ecosystem, a wonderful picture of life in this dark age of the dinosaurs.“It’s like someone has discovered the Holy Grail of dinosaur paleontology,” says British geologist, Dr. Phil Manning. Oliver Rauhut describes the site as “an extraordinary window to the mid-Jurassic.” Above all, the hope is that this site can contain all the information they need to find the mysterious evolutionary forces that have eluded paleontologists for a long time .

Most of us are intrigued by the questions to do with the origin and evolution of the universe. Where do we come? Where do we go?These are fundamental questions. But nobody knows the answers. In recent years there have been many claims that we are finally getting a real answer. Is that the universe and all matter and energy that are created are created in a huge explosion about 15 billion years. This was the Big Bang. Most scientists agree with this, but some of us, an expert in the field, who understand that still do not really know. This is the story of a few.The astronomical theory comes to the meetings between members of an elite influence. This film gives the opportunity to hear and see, first hand, the arguments that contradict the currently accepted paradigm.Listen and reflect on how researchers dispute the findings that do not reach the media and general public. See evidence of a completely different universe. Discover along with many prominent workers in the area, what this universe is like and how it works. It is surprising that this film was given the animosity towards the alternative ideas in the field. Apparently, Meyers has become the Michael Moore documentary science! This feature presentation is a unique blend of human interest and science documentary. As the first comprehensive documentary to deal with major new approaches in non-big bang cosmologies, it reveals several deep theoretical and observational controversies. This is a fact, well hidden from university students and the general public, said with clarity and conviction, and that can lead to low fall of the theory of Big Bang presiding. The story is told by 16 world-renowned astronomers as the legendary cosmologist Sir Fred Hoyle, Geoffrey Burbidge and cosmologists controversial Halton Arp, philosopher and designer John Dobson telescope, astronomers Jack Sulentic, Jean-Claude Pecker, and Margaret Burbidge.Illustrated with 3D animation and a soundtrack symphonic exuberant, this film is a scientific and historical “must” for anyone interested in astronomy and cosmology.

In 2001, scientists announced a startling discovery: the oldest skull of a human ancestor ever found. The fossil of three million and a half old, was very complete, and finding fossils unlike any before. Their discovery – by a team led by Meave Leakey of the famous Leakey fossil-hunting family – has revolutionized our understanding of how humans evolved. The great mystery of our evolution is like a monkey could have evolved into extraordinary creature is a human being. There has never been another animal on the planet like us. And yet, tens of millions of years there was no sign that humans would take over the world. Instead of the Earth was dominated by apes. Over 50 different species of apes roamed the world – ten million years the Earth was actually the planet of the apes. Three million years later, most had disappeared. In its place came something clearly related to the apes, but also completely different human beings!Brainy or bipedal? For years, scientists searched for the first key feature that allowed us to make the leap from ape to human being amazing. At first they thought that the development of our large brains was decisive. They even found the fossils seemed to prove it, until he reached the famous fossil Lucy three million years old skeleton. This overturned the big brain theory, because here was a human ancestor that walked on two legs clearly, like us, but his little brain of a monkey. It seemed that the development of walking on two legs (bipedalism) was the first key feature human, which put us on the path to becoming human.Lucy soon became even more important. She seemed to defy the laws of evolution. Typically, more an evolutionary adaptation, such as walking on two legs is followed by what scientists call adaptive radiation. Many related species rapidly evolve from an initial evolutionary innovation. It gives a very thick family evolutionary tree, with many different species, but related. Scientists knew that the human branch of the family tree had started about six or seven million years ago when the planet of the apes over. And yet no sign of an adaptive radiation. The family tree showed only a straight line from the Planet of the Apes by Lucy. (Excerpt from bbc.co.uk)

Scientists hope to uncover some of the deepest mysteries of the evolution of our Universe by revisiting the beginning of time, and a result of this very endeavor is The Large Hadron Collider, which promises to reconstruct the conditions right after The Big Bang, within the first few moments of which the building blocks of the Universe were created.Scientists have been baffled for decades in search of these fundamental building blocks but have yet failed to find one extremely difficult to recreate particle that does not appear in any experiment, The Higgs Boson particle. This particle is the key to understanding our Universe and has been rightly termed as the ‘God particle’, as it explains how mass is acquired by fundamental particles which actually “makes stuff stuff…”!

Hovind himself has no discernible academic training, and manages only the use of safe delivery of scientific terms to convince his audience that he knows what hes talking about. Then, of course, are the professionals, such as the Discovery Institute, the center and the founders of the intelligent design movement. After the humiliating defeat of the ID in the court where it was found that intelligent design is not science, and only one ID. Relabeling of creationism, Discovery Institute does not pronounce the word once in his last promotional videoInstead, they have now decided to teach the controversy is ironic, since they are the only people who disagree with evolution. What they are really doing is not teaching the controversy, but to teach to their views, which are supported by any research or testing in schools.

This historical series on the evolution of man answers fundamental questions. Who were our ancestors? When was the first walk of the earth? Why does man survive when other species become extinct? These questions have inspired scientists over time to assemble the fragmentary clues early humans left behind. This direct history and the participation of their detective work in search of the truth about our evolution takes us through the ups and downs in the epic journey to the truth about our common past, and discovered that our ancestors were, in many ways, people like us. At the heart of this series are impressive dramatic recreations bring into focus the lives of early humans.Contact – for 200. Neanderthals lived 000 years in Europe without question, without changing your lifestyle. However, 30,000 years ago climate upheaval and the arrival of modern humans from eastern forced to adapt or die. This final program in the evolution of the series explores the similarities between Neanderthals and modern humans, and from recent archaeological findings, re-creates the moment when the two species of convergence in Europe.First Born – The discovery of the skeleton of a child on the edge of the Kalahari desert gave rise to the theory of a kind that stretched across the boundary between humans and apes. Do these australopithecines or upright monkeys flourish because of the abandonment of vegetarianism?Body – The discovery in the eighties of a skeleton was nicknamed Chico Nariokotome confirmed that “ape-man” lived about one and half million years in a body that was almost human, but with a small brain and the nature of a wild animal. This episode examines how the notion of a last missing link from theory to reality.Love – Archaeological discoveries have revealed that Europe was settled and found a turning point in our evolution, where human feelings of friendship, trust and love came into being.Exodus – “The discovery of bones, tools and artifacts in two archaeological sites on the southern coast of Africa have helped scientists to estimate that people indistinguishable from modern human species (Homo sapiens) first appeared in Africa about 150,000 years. This program explains why these first Africans Beach residents left their homeland to colonize other continents.Human – has long been thought that the ice in the Age cave paintings could provide a window into our past, but its meaning remains a mystery. The enemies of reason is a television documentary in two parts, written and presented by evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins. Is it rational that the dead can communicate with the living and give advice on how to live their lives? What about sticking pins into your body to free the flow of Chi energy and cure your illness?O bending spoons with his mind alone? Is that rational? Richard Dawkins does not think so, and feels it is their duty to report to the areas of belief that exist without scientific proof, however, manage to keep the nation under his spell. He will face the world’s leading proponents in their field of expertise, meet the victims who have used them and expose the history of movements – from the charlatans who have milked these practices to the experiments and tests have not produced conclusive results.Dawkins points out that some of the achievements of science and describes it as the release of most of the people of superstition and dogma. Picking up his superstition-reason distinction in the root of all evil? (While recycling some pictures of him), then says reason is facing an “epidemic of superstition” that “impoverishes our culture” and enter gurus who persuade us “to escape reality.” He calls this day in dangerous times. Return to the achievements of science, including the fact that, by extending the life expectancy of people, helping them to take more advantage of living. He turns his attention to astrology, which criticizes the stereotypes without proof.

The work of the 19th-century English naturalist shocked society and revolutionized science. How well has it withstood the test of time?Evolution by natural selection, the central concept of the life’s work of Charles Darwin, is a theory. It’s a theory about the origin of adaptation, complexity, and diversity among Earth’s living creatures. If you are skeptical by nature, unfamiliar with the terminology of science, and unaware of the overwhelming evidence, you might even be tempted to say that it’s just a theory. In the same sense, relativity as described by Albert Einstein is just a theory. The notion that Earth orbits around the sun rather than vice versa, offered by Copernicus in 1543, is a theory. Continental drift is a theory. The existence, structure, and dynamics of atoms? Atomic theory. Even electricity is a theoretical construct, involving electrons, which are tiny units of charged mass that no one has ever seen. Each of these theories is an explanation that has been confirmed to such a degree, by observation and experiment, that knowledgeable experts accept it as fact. That’s what scientists mean when they talk about a theory: not a dreamy and unreliable speculation, but an explanatory statement that fits the evidence. They embrace such an explanation confidently but provisionally – taking it as their best available view of reality, at least until some severely conflicting data or some better explanation might come along. The rest of us generally agree. We plug our televisions into little wall sockets, measure a year by the length of Earth’s orbit, and in many other ways live our lives based on the trusted reality of those theories.Evolutionary theory, though, is a bit different. It’s such a dangerously wonderful and far-reaching view of life that some people find it unacceptable, despite the vast body of supporting evidence. As applied to our own species, Homo sapiens, it can seem more threatening still. Many fundamentalist Christians and ultra-orthodox Jews take alarm at the thought that human descent from earlier primates contradicts a strict reading of the Book of Genesis. Their discomfort is paralleled by Islamic creationists such as Harun Yahya, author of a recent volume titled The Evolution Deceit, who points to the six-day creation story in the Koran as literal truth and calls the theory of evolution nothing but a deception imposed on us by the dominators of the world system. The late Srila Prabhupada, of the Hare Krishna movement, explained that God created “the 8,400,000 species of life from the very beginning,” in order to establish multiple tiers of reincarnation for rising souls. Although souls ascend, the species themselves don’t change, he insisted, dismissing Darwin’s nonsensical theory.

For centuries, philosophers and archaeologists have asked this question, but at a fundamental level responses have been a mystery until now.Having argued that the essential difference between ape and man is the big smart brain, Dr. Armand Leroi explores how the special qualities of the brain have allowed us to dominate the planet.

Welcome to Discovering Religion – an original series on the discrepancies between the literal belief in religious mythology and the cold hard facts of evolution and the scientific discoveries of the 21st century on Earth and the Universe. Here is an excerpt from the YouTube channel description of the manufacturer of this documentary: “I’ve been asked several times to clarify the nature of my beliefs, as the title of my series is a bit ambiguous. Neither I nor anyone can say with 100 % certainty whether “God (s)” does or does not exist. Therefore, the objective of this series is to examine what religious philosophies tell us about where we are and where we go, then compare and contrast these views against the undisputed facts discovered about the Earth and the Universe through rigorous scientific research. From my own investigation of these facts I have determined that the Bible accurately describes the known universe and therefore is not something you can put what I believe.Although they have come to understand the God of Abraham is very unlikely that there is, I want my show to convey a sense of objectivity. There has been a recent trend among many popular channels on YouTube to beat atheist to religion or disparage belief in a higher power. I see no difference between this and pass moral judgments on someone for being gay or for holding a contrary political opinion.Theist or atheist, gay or straight, Republican or Democrat, etc. etc. – makes no difference what you think or feel better way to live your life, provided the same rights and freedoms that are extended to all like the world.I hope that both theists and theists alike can enjoy this series. I understand that there are many different ways in which to take one’s life, and although many of us personally disagree with each other for moral, religious or philosophical beliefs, opposing views must be respected. However, our relationship with the facts must come before everything else. “

Dr Alice Roberts uncovers how your body recounts the account of human advancement. The way you look, think and carry on is a result of a 6 million year battle for survival. We have uncovered the insider facts of the particle and went to the moon. In any case how did people come to be so fruitful? This arrangement investigates the anatomical changes that have issued us, and our precursors, the edge. Everything from the way that we stroll, to the state of our jaw and even the way our thumbs move interfaces us personally to the battles and triumphs of our progenitors. Yet a significant number of those progressions have had a go at an astonishing expense and the issues we confront now are a direct result of our developmental excursion. As much about our bodies today as about our bodies 6 million years back, this documentary will change the way you see yourself. If you enjoyed this documentary and would like to see more evolution related videos, click here.

In this short documentary, Dawkins takes a look at purpose of human existence and makes the important question – Why are we here?Noting that religious stories of human purpose fail miserably, Dawkins suggests that science may be able to offer a better explanation for human existence. Beginning with Darwin, says that Darwin’s theory of evolution may offer the only explanation of why humanity d’State is likely to become increasingly. Many believers can claim that the answers to our existence that provides the theory of evolution means that humans are nothing special, which are another kind of animal. They are, of course, correct in saying that we are just another animal species, but this does not necessarily mean that there are special. It is evident that human beings are different from our brothers the animals that we have the ability to ask questions like why we are here. This also means, however, that with our “specialty” has special responsibilities. This brilliant documentary helps to clarify some of the arguments used by evolution and by no means the same thing over Dawkins.

The history of GNU, Linux, and the open source and free software movements has been mapped out in the interesting documentary, Revolution OS. Interviews with prominent hackers and entrepreneurs, including Richard Stallman, Michael Tiemann, Linus Torvalds, Larry Augustin, Eric S. Raymond, Bruce Perens, Frank Hecker and Brian Behlendorf are featured here. The film begins with an IPO, and then the historical stage is set by showing the beginnings of software development back to the time when software was shared on paper tape for the price of the paper itself. It then moves to Bill Gates’ Open Letter to Hobbyists in which he asked Computer Hobbyists to not share, but to buy software.Richard Stallman then follows up by explaining his reasons for leaving the MIT Lab for Artificial Intelligence in order to devote his life to developing free software, and also how he came about the GNU project. Linus Torvalds is interviewed on his development of the Linux kernel as well as on the GNU/Linux naming controversy and Linux’s further evolution, including its commercialization. Richard Stallman comments on some of the ideological aspects of open source vis-á-vis Communism and capitalism and makes his observation on several aspects of the development of GNU/Linux.Michael Tiemann tells about his meeting with Stallman and how it led to the making of an early version of Stallman’s GCC thereby founding Cygnus Solutions. Larry Augustin tells how he created a UNIX-like Workstation by combining the resulting GNU software and a normal PC, which cost one third the price of a workstation by Sun Microsystems despite of it being three times as powerful. His early dealings with venture capitalists, the eventual capitalization and commodification of Linux for his own company, VA Linux, and ending with its IPO is included in his narrative. Frank Hecker of Netscape tells how Netscape executives released the source code for Netscape’s browser, one of the signal events which made Open Source a force to be reckoned with by business executives, the mainstream media, and the public at large.

Ida know, the little missing link that is created in Germany a great welcome the media and probably will continue to make waves among those who study human origins. In this documentary the palaeontologist Jorn Hurum, who led the team that analyzed the fossil 47 million years have seen suggests that Ida is an important missing link in the evolution of primate species. The fossil, he says, bridges evolutionary split between the higher primates such as monkeys, apes and humans and their distant relatives, such as lemurs. This is the first link in all human beings, Hurum, Natural History Museum in Oslo, Norway, said in a statement. Ida is the closest we can come to a direct ancestor. Ida, well known as Darwinius masillae, has a unique anatomy. The lemur-like the skeleton of the characteristics of primate-like features, including holding hands, opposable thumbs, figures without claws and claw relatively short limbs. “This specimen is similar to early fossil monkey belonging to the group that includes us, said Brian Richmond, an anthropologist at George Washington University in Washington, DC, who was not involved in the study, published this week in the journal PLoS ONE.But there is a large gap in the fossil record of this period of time, Richmond said. Researchers are not sure when and where the group of primates that includes monkeys, apes and humans diverged from the other group of primates including lemurs. “[Ida] is one of the important points of branching in the evolutionary tree,” Richmond said. “But is not the only branch point” At least one aspect of Ida is certainly unique: preservation incredible, unheard of in the samples of the Eocene, when the first primates underwent a period of rapid evolution. (Explore a prehistoric time line.) “From this time there are very few fossils, and they tend to be an isolated tooth here or there maybe a tailbone,” said Richmond. “So you can not say much about what [type of fossil] represents in terms of evolutionary history and biology.”For Ida, the scientists were able to examine the fossil evidence of skin and soft tissue and even picked through the remains of his last meal: fruit, seeds and leaves. Moreover, the recently described “missing link” was found in Messel Pit in Germany. Ida European origins are intriguing, Richmond said, because it might suggest – contrary to common assumptions – that the continent was an important area for the evolution of primates.

he Zeitgeist Movement is not a political movement. It does not recognize nations, governments, races, religions, creeds or class. Our understanding concluded that these distinctions are false, outdated, they are far from positive factors for true collective human growth and potential. They are based in the division of power and stratification, not unity and equality, which is our goal. While it is important to understand that everything in life is a natural progression, we must also recognize the reality that the human species has the ability to slow dramatically and paralyze progress, through social structures that are out of date, dogmatic, and therefore outside in accordance with nature. The world you see today, full of war, corruption, elitism, pollution, poverty, epidemics, human rights abuses, inequality and crime is the result of this paralysis. This movement is about awareness, in avocation of a fluid evolutionary progress, both personal, social, technological and spiritual. Recognizes that the human species is in a natural way for unification, derived from a common recognition of the fundamental and empirical understanding about how nature works and how we as humans fit into / are part of this development that we call life universal .Although this path does not exist, it is unfortunately hindered and not recognized by the vast majority of humans who continue to perpetuate outdated degenerative modes and therefore, conduct and association. It is this intellectual irrelevancy which the Zeitgeist Movement hopes to overcome through education and social action. The movement itself is not a centralized building. We are not here to lead, but to organize and educate.

It’s a tough world, violent and deadly than any, and has been since the dawn of time. Approximately 99 percent of all species are extinct. What allowed other one percent to survive the fierce competition? Their ability to …. EVOLVE. Through an impressive combination of drama, animation, live action images of nature and the laboratory work, to discover the biological and behavioral innovations that have kept everyone on this earth!1. Eyes – Seeing is believing … not to mention escape, eat and survive! Learn how the eye evolved from ancestors of jellyfish who developed photosensitive cells of the unique adaptations that allow primates to better exploit their new habitat, while the ability to see colors helped them find food.2. Sex – Sex is a necessity for most species to survive. As evolution continues, we are approaching a time when sex is no longer a need? How is this possible?3. Size – How to match? Understanding the processes that gave us incredible vertebrates smaller than a fingernail (a frog in Cuba) and a diesel locomotive (a blue whale). But what are the mechanisms of these adaptations, the evolutionary pressures that the effect size, and life can reach the physical limits?4. Skin – The skin is absolutely amazing, much more complex and versatile than you ever give credit for. They constitute 16% of their body weight, is the largest organ in the human body, enabling birds to fly, mammals feed their babies, and provides a lifelong defense against predators and parasites like.5. Flight – In this episode of top-flight, discover the secrets and mysteries to continue, the steering wheel very first vertebrates, the pterosaur, which escaped from its earthly bounds 220 million years. This creature eventually became Goliath flying the sizeof small planes!6. Communications – Communication is not only key to a good relationship, but also goes a long way towards the success of a species. While humans, comfortable in the top of the food chain, have made the most of this particular developmental achievement, bodies everywhere – from dolphins to amoebas – can be found talking to each other.7. Guts – Do not just take willpower to survive. It takes courage. Life needs energy to exist and almost all animals get their energy in the same way – with built in power plant, a digestive system that turns food into fuel. Take a look at the role of the gut have played in shaping some of the most successful animals on Earth: dinosaurs, snakes, cows, and us.8. Poison – The deadliest weapon used physical in the animal kingdom has evolved independently in such diverse creatures as jellyfish, insects, snakes, and even mammals. Scientists around the world show how developments in poison adapted to meet the needs of the animals that exercised.9. Speed - The ability to react and move often can mean the difference between life and death in the animal kingdom. Some animals have become drivers in the championship, swimmers and runners. What are the forces that create the need for speed, and how to adapt to the bodies of animals go into overdrive?10. Jaws – Be prepared to force open some of the most deadly jaws on the planet as we present this weapon anatomical strong and fierce. Sharp, threatening and eating a device, the jaws of many animals are essential for survival. Back along the evolutionary line to find out how different jaws developed in the first place.11. Form – Each form in nature, no matter how strange it may seem, was developed as a result of the struggle for survival. Today, the animals are trained in many different forms and most of them are foreign, strange-looking. But the form is still vital.

Judgement Day: Intelligent Design on the bench is an award winning NOVA documentary on Kitzmiller v. For Dover Area School District, which focused on the question of whether or not intelligent design could be seen as science and taught in science class at school. Aired on PBS in November 2007 and includes interviews with the judge, witnesses and lawyers, as well as re-enacted scenes (no cameras allowed in court). The film was praised by nature, and is described as accurate by the National Center for Science Education. Variety magazine also gave the film a positive review and said it was one of the projects most important years of television, which “must show not only in all U.S. high schools, but in the homes of worship.”In contrast to the positive reception the film has been given to supporters of creationism and intelligent design have criticized the film. The Discovery Institute has developed a Web site critical of the issue. Answers in Genesis claimed the evidence for evolution by scientists on the Day of Judgement was fallacious. The Institute for Creation Research (ICR) also stated that the film was not balanced. WKNO-TV, the local PBS affiliate in Memphis decided not to broadcast the documentary because of the “controversial nature” on the subject, but has since pledged to spread in 2008.

The theory of evolution by natural selection is now scientific orthodoxy, but when released it caused a storm of controversy, his fellow scientists and religious people.Criticized it for being short and long-term evidence and the assertion of Darwin, being the honest scientist who was, according to them.He knew that his theory was fraught with difficulties, but hoped future generations to complete their work and prove the essential truth of his vision, which is what scientists have been doing for the past 150 years. The evolutionary biologist Armand Marie Leroi teacher letters of the scientific endeavor that brought the triumphant revival of Darwin’s theory. He says that with the new science of evolutionary developmental biology (evo devo), may be possible to consider this theory to a new level – to do more to explain what has evolved in the past, and begin to predict what might into the future. There is another documentary (PBS), on the same subject, entitled What Darwin did not know.

Life is a documentary series about nature made for BBC television, first broadcast on BBC One and BBC HD from October to December 2009. The series is an overview of the specialized strategies and extreme behavior that living things have evolved to survive, what Charles Darwin called “the struggle for existence.” Four years in the making, the series was shot entirely in high definition. The spread of the UK’s life consists of ten episodes of 50 minutes. The opening program offers a general introduction to the series, a second aspect of the plants and the rest are devoted to the major animal groups. It aims to show the common characteristics that have contributed to the success of each group, and to document the intimate moments and dramatic life of certain species chosen for their charisma and extraordinary performance. A ten-minute take on life in terms of location is transmitted to the end of each episode, taking the total accumulated time of 60 minutes.Life is produced by Natural History Unit of the BBC in association with Discovery Channel, Skai TV and the Open University. The original script, which is used in British and Canadian versions of the series, was written and narrated by David Attenborough. In the U.S., the series is displayed in a 11-run first participated in March 2010, with narration by Oprah Winfrey. The series is marketed under the brand BBC Earth and is distributed by BBC Worldwide. It has already been acquired by several radio stations in Latin America and the Discovery Channel Canada, which made its debut in North America on November 15, 2009.

Andrew Marr explores how Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection has taken on a life beyond the world of science. In the first episode of the three-part series, argues that Darwin’s theory has transformed our understanding of what it means to be human. Over the past 150 years, Darwin’s ideas have questioned the need for a creator, undermined religious authority, and ever new ways of looking at the origins of human morality.Andrew Marr discovers something surprising about her own evolutionary history of this epic series continues with an exploration of Darwin’s impact on politics and society.Under the banner of the survival of the fittest, Darwin’s theory of natural selection has been used to justify imperial expansion and oppression of indigenous peoples, to inform the science of eugenics – selective breeding of humans which took place in the United States in the early 20th century, and to provide a veneer of scientific respectability to Nazi plans to create an Aryan race. It was also used quite explicitly to explain the twisted logic of the final solution. In the last episode of this pioneering series on the legacy of Charles Darwin, Andrew Marr discovers how Darwin’s ideas are helping us to save ourselves and all life on earth from extinction. Marr argues that Charles Darwin is the father of ecology. The modern environmental movement, built on the idea that all life on earth is bound by a delicate web of connections. He also discovers that Darwin’s dangerous idea is inspiring scientists to create a “flotilla of Noah’s Arks Darwinian ‘to help save life on earth from disaster.
