‘Super Size Me’ is an entertaining and interesting documentary directed and acted in by Morgan Spurlock, this documentary being his debut film.

He carries out an experiment on himself to highlight American culture’s disturbing trend towards obesity; he eats three McDonalds meals a day every day for 30 consecutive days, provides an amusing and occasionally disturbing account that provides a lot of information and keeps the audience gripped.

In this film Spurlock manages to maintain a fine balance between humor, shock and entertainment without being too judgmental.

The editing and the quality of interviews more than make up for the amateur voice-overs.

as i am a educated person i dont believe everyone clearly see”s the meaning behind this educated educational program it shows that fast food is unhealty why does no one see this how could no one see this its irrevelant and downright not educated to not see this its right in front of you. watch this educated educational program all the way through and then you will see the real meaning behind this good day

  2. maxxcage says:

Although, you know it’s not McDonald’s fault nor any fast food restaurant for the food that they serve. You an inexpensive fast meal? Of course it’s not going to have the nutritional content that a home cooked health conscious meal would. The problem we face is our global economy, More small businesses, jobs, profit, income, less outsourcing. Nobody should blame restaurants, blame yourself.

You do actually realize that a “calorie” is a unit of measurement of how much energy is needed to warm 1g of air- free water from 14.5 to 15.5 degree celsius at 101.325 kPa?Carbohydrates contain this energy. Fats contain this energy. Therefore your conclusion that carbs and fats are bad is false. The human metabolism needs this energy derived from carbs and fats to sustain itself. Too much calorie intake is actually what is bad for you, but not the carbs or fats as such.

  7. Dan Bridge says:

judging by your comments, I am guessing that you are rather overweight and think there is nothing wrong with eating mcdonalds or other fast food several times a week. at 5.10 and 14 stone I would hardly consider myself slim. but I am no where near as fat or unhealthy as I would be if I ate fast food all the time. apart from pizza and the occasional curry I don’t eat fast food and I haven’t for a long time. I also get a reasonable amount of exercise instead of sitting on my arse all day long.

  8. stylezofom says:

His experiment is stupid. It’s like saying, i’ll go 1 month drinking only beer instead of water and see what happens… budweiser should shut down. OMG they’re..they’re advertising, the bastards. let’s sue them. WTF? if Americans keep winning cases like this, they’ll never learn anything, all they’ll learn is that, for your poor choices, somebody else will compensate you. the only thing in this doc which surprised me was the junk food and candy in the school cafeteria. that’s not fair.

  9. this asshole is the reason i cant enjoy a supersized fry anymore….people overdose on drugs, die from alcohol poisoning….if i wanna eat a supersized mcdonalds meal and die thats MY choice…but noooooo now i gotta order 2 large fries and waste more money thanks to this douche!

  10. Leo Fu says:

so… are you supporting these huge corporate companies who make unhealthy fastfoods then? It seems as if you were. because we all know the main point of this documentary, is to point a finger of responsibility on someone or something. (unfortunately, people cannot control their own eating habits, and some cannot afford healthy ones either), but in this film it is pointing at McDonalds. I believe Morgan’s purpose was to show (in extreme situation) what happens gradually over time eating nasty

  11. kaijaphas says:

Another problem…. a lot of McDonald`s bags at the roadside. :( (Widerlich diese Schweine, die diesen Mist einfach aus dem Auto rausschmeissen….) irresponsible, this pollution.Ok …thats not the fault of McDonald´s or other chain of fast food outlets direct….The blame of there customers.

  12. odin650 says:

The problem with telling people to, “Eat healthful foods in moderate portions, and exercise.” Is that this varies greatly between people. The United States Government tells us that 2000-2500 calories a day is the correct amout. I have to restrict myself to 1000.The Government will also tell us to get “60 minutes of play a day” to. I think 20 miles of walking/jogging plus cycling in addition to my normal activity is approximately 4X that.Point: People make fat people sound proportionaty lazy.

  13. kaijaphas says:

3 x in the month, fast food…is ok….whatever “Maci” or BurgerKing etc..etc…But not every day 3x McDonalds, BurgerKing and other fast food.ick!..*würg*I live in Europe in a country region…the next large city ist “far” away… ( for European conditions) ;) But the next “Maci” Donalds..30 km ( 19 miles) ..20 ,25 minute`s drive…I heard it , in the United States of America, in this giant big far country, a “Mc Donald`s all 5-10 driving minute…..oh my god … ;) greetings

  14. odin650 says:

Saying that all obease people are overweight solely because of a lack of exercise, and poor diet is one of the most harmful myths in circulation today. It may sound cliché but some people do have a negative predisposition to gain and retain weight.I was once 429lbs. I am currently 285lbs. and dropping.I did not quit fast-food as I never ate it. I had to cut my caloric intake to about 1000 and walk/cycle apx. 20miles per day, IN ADDITION to may normal routine. So with all due respect; Fuck You!

  15. I wouldnt call him an idiot but as a guy who is willing to risk his body to give an example and put it in a documentary. Its not a stupid documentary but one that serves an example of terrible fast food is. (actually showing the process) Please don’t make random insults before you comment.

  16. Dan Bridge says:

it is not a food that is going to fill you up or give you everything that you need from your food. in fact it shouldn’t even be classed as a food. it is even worse when you consider that during one so called meal, it got too much for him and he was sick out of the car window. not because the food was making him full, shit from mcdonalds can’t make you full. but because it was such a huge portion and there was so much crap in it, his body just couldn’t handle it. still fancy a burger, fatty?

  17. Dan Bridge says:

it doesn’t matter if you eat mcdonalds every day or once a week. it is never going to do you any good. anyone who eats mcdonalds after watching this deserves to be fat. mcdonalds shouldn’t be selling such crap anyway. but if you still eat there when you know how bad the food is, it’s your own fault if you get fat. there are warnings as to haw bad the food is, yet people still eat it. you should forget filing a lawsuit, stop eating mcdonalds then get off your fat arse and do some exercise.

  18. i honestly dont think its fast food places’ faults for obesity. most fast food cuisines do serve salads and parfaits. its the people’s faults for deciding to eat there all the time. but it is also the places fault for serving such fatty, high cholesterol foods. its a 50/50 thing.

  19. Najee Nixon says:

The only way we can lose weight is by exercisin and stayin active. I’ont believe in watchin calories that much. I just eat when im hungry and make sure I dont eat too much sweets and I make sure that I drink mostly water.

  20. Watch “Fat Head”, Super Size Me is a crock of shit, guy barely cleared 3000 calories a day. There was much money to be made from the creation of this bullshit documentary. Follow deep throats “follow the money”, that is what this doco was made for, lobbyists. Scumbag liars.- Not that eating MacDonalds is a healthy diet by any means.
