“I am living a normal life, wife, child, peacocks…”only hunter would mention ‘peacocks’ while trying to explain how normal his life was
If anything is worth doing,…..it’s worth doing right.

He was never a Hell’s Angel, I don’t even think he was an affiliate member.

The American Dream really is fucked.
Meh….I’m going to get crap for this…But looking back, he comes across as a bit of self-indulgent douche…..
Steadman is Scottish, right?
@13thfloor18 I read the novel in 1975. The movie kept most scenes intact, and Mr. Depp was astonishing, but the pacing was all wrong. Many words are ITALICIZED in the book, which gives it a speed/booze feel in addition to a psychedelic one. In the movie, everyone seems like they are on tranquilizers. This is the fault of the director, Terry Gilliam, whose films are invariably glacially paced. And how they could leave out the song “Sympathy for the Devil” is beyond comprehension.
How is it misunderstood? What was it criticised for?
Steadman isn’t English, Thompson wasn’t a Hells Angel.
hunter handles pigs like a pro.. fuckin awesome.. while i ultimately respect his decision, the world really does still need him

What a bunch of pompas asses- Hunter S. Thompson was a visionary artist. He gave us a look at the subculture from a very unique perspective. He may have been given to self abuse and excess but he was in fact a brilliant writer and a beautiful soul. He summed up the spirit of a grass roots type movement that was responcible for exacting important change in this countries domestic and foriegn policy during the sixties. You may disapprove of his life style but do not diminish his importance or sincerity of belief.
Above all what right have you to decide it’s better he is dead, perhaps the world would be better off without your smart ass comments. I for instance am offended by your lack of intelligence and humility but I would not say you should die for it!! Maybe get really sick but not die- Just kidding! You have a right to express your opinion but I have the right to make you look a ass for doing so. Have a nice day.
