End Day is a docu-drama produced by the BBC, which shows various doomsday scenarios. The documentary follows the fictional scientist Dr. Howell, played by Glenn Conroy, as he journeys from his London hotel room to his laboratory in New York, and shows how each scenario affects his journey, as well as those around him, with experts who provide commentary on that specific disaster unfolds.

Mega-tsunami. In this scenario, a volcanic eruption on the island of La Palma triggers a massive release in which a significant portion of the island sinks into the sea, causing a huge mega-tsunami to race across the Atlantic Ocean and the strike the east coast of the United States, flooding most of New York, but leaving many buildings intact.

The asteroid murderer. It begins with a mysterious missile attack in a remote area somewhere in the Middle East. The missiles were soon revealed to be small fragments of asteroids, the vanguard of a much larger asteroid on a collision course with Earth, threatening to Berlin, Germany. The asteroid is found and an attempt is made to alter its course with nuclear ICBMs. The attempt fails, resulting in that the asteroid is divided into hundreds of smaller pieces with the largest piece after impact and the obliteration of Berlin.

Global pandemic. In this scenario, a mysterious virus similar to SARS or the flu breaks out, wreaking havoc as it spreads at a phenomenal rate across Europe, the UK and North America, prompting many countries to enact martial law and close its borders in a desperate attempt to quarantine the spread of the disease, but are unsuccessful.
Supervolcano. This scenario is based on the supervolcano under Yellowstone National Park erupted, incinerating everything within 100 km and the release of ash into the atmosphere which cools the earth. This segment has only issued in the United Kingdom. This scenario was explored in depth in another BBC docudrama, Supervolcano.
Foreign matter. This is the only scenario in which Dr. Howell reaches his laboratory unhindered, with people protesting and shouting: “Stop the experiment!” Exterior. Upon arrival, he and his colleagues initiate a highly controversial experiment using the world’s largest particle accelerator. The experiment quickly out of control, resulting in the creation of a new type of matter called a strangelet, which begins to consume and destroy all matter around it, starting with New York. The phenomenon wreaks havoc on the Earth’s weather systems and atmosphere, and eventually leads to off-screen Earth from destruction.

I find it funny (but oh so anthropocentric) that people equate ‘The end of the world!’ with the end of the human species. The world will be just fine. It spun around the sun for billions of years before we came on the scene,hyper-populated it beyond all hope of sustainability.Don’t get me wrong,I love my computer,my electric guitars, and my fridge.I’m just one more hypocrite. The end of the era of the human would just be making room for the sapient rats – leaving behind strange artifacts for them.

  2. “The chances of anything going wrong are a million million to one” If that ‘one’ was just the destruction of the apparatus then go for it, kill yourselves. But if the ‘one’ is the destruction of our planet then it’s really not a chance worth taking. The arrogance of man, and scientists inparticular, never fails to stagger.

  3. AlMayer1100 says:

Not one building will remain standing. Water is not a gas. One cubicmeter weights a ton. a few few hundred miles per hour will turn a mass of one ton into 4000 tons. Buildings would just be swept away. No matter how big they are.

simple solutions…asteroids ….tell the muslims its a christian rock theyll send a suicide bomber to blow it up spacetsunami ….1billion tampons or 1 sheet ……lolneuclear holocaust….destroy iransolar flair…..giant mirror out in spacepandemic….alcohol rub and respirators ….volcano….block the crater with murderers and rapists and topped with chavs

Slow down and think. What you said about “intelligent life never re-develops in the infinity of space and time” is very vague. Chances are, there are extraterrestrial civilizations in the cosmos, maybe far more intelligent then humans. Also, you said “shredding earth into a collection molten elements and scatters them about the universe” is inaccurate, The pieces of earth (assuming the object hitting earth is large enough to rip earth apart) will simply form an asteroid belt orbiting our sun.

  6. I have come from the future and brought you the Truth. Take a square or two of toilet paper fold it in half and place it between your butt cheeks. You’ll never have skid marks again. And you have and instant fart muffler. You’re welcome.

Diamond Sutra: “All the world’s phenomena and ideas are unreal, like a dream. All the world’s phenomena and ideas are impermanent, like a water bubble, like dew and lightning. Thus should one observe and realize, all the world’s phenomena and ideas are not real”.All things created under the conditional causation (cause and effect) and Nobody can escape from become obvious to the causal. 9. Linda Miller says:

Drop a nuke on the tsunami that ought to disrupt it, or better yet shoot the asteroid so it falls in giant pieces on the tsunami slowing it down just enough to reroute and douse the volcano sending a super splash of ash to drown the particle accelerator which burps just enough to open a worm hole that devours the mega virus. Hey, crisis over. Make some more popcorn and watch “Threads”.

  10. Please pray to God to forgive the sins of everyone in the whole world. Pray that God especially open the eyes of those that refuse to repent…that he fills them with he knowledge of their sins and that they be moved to sincere sorrow for their sins and ask God to forgive them. Let us all repent of the sins that we have had the is misfortune to commit…let us return to God, pray and love one another.

00:54 “What’s the worst that could happen in just one day?”An asteroid the size of mars smashes into the earth shredding the earth into a collection molten elements and scatters them about the universe. All traces of what we call humanity are erased from existence and intelligent life never re-develops in the infinity of time and space. Question answered. Stopped watching.

  12. poodtang1 says:

The surge would also fill up the Gulf of Mexico and race up the Mississippi. If this happened the following cities would be wiped clean:Every city from Halifax ( Canada ) to Belem ( Brazil ) New Orleans to ChattanoogaAnd hundreds more.Death tole 20 million +

  13. poodtang1 says:

If the news came on this second and said what the reporter said at 5:23 i would:empty my bank accountfill my car with gas and 2 cans ( before the price goes through the roof )make a B line for the grocery store ( before it’s emptied ) fill my car with grocerieshead home and wait it outAnd i live on the Pacific Coast. The global effects will be much much worse then the Great Depression.

  14. DonMega187 says:

6:25 lol the news reporter is way too calm about it. and she’s even saying “it created mixed reactions”. haha there wouldn’t be mixed reactions. there’d be only 1 reaction “omg we’re all gonna die. let’s run the hell away and panic totally”

  15. Stalicone says:

They said 500 feet not 500 Meters. Reinforced by the Police telling people they had to be above the 50th floor….That would be about 500 feet….The funny thing is a 500 foot wave would knock any skyscraper down. Like a twig.

  16. poodtang1 says:

This video assumes most people are complete morons…………..well most of them are.A wave that is 500m high at the crest is going to travel inland a hell of alot more then a couple miles, more like about 20 miles. Most dumbasses are going to be stuck in traffic

  17. @timothyw98 Never say never. The black plaque (supposedly Y. pestis) pandemia from 1347 – 1353 wiped out one third of the european population and that plaque spared huge areas of Europe. Nowadays people and viruses travel way faster and population centers are way bigger and more populated. And nowadays there is another thread – bioweapons. Those weapons are especially designed to circumvent the human immune system and kill 100% of the victims. Unleash one of those and we are doomed.

  18. timothyw98 says:

@Furzkampfbomber I think its impossible for a virus to wipe out the world, the 1918 to 1919 epidermic couldn’t do it nor could the could the swine flu. People either believe the news to much or have been believing BBC survivors

  19. @timothyw98 It might be unlikely, but it is possible. Well, of course it would be impossible to infect the whole world in one day, but in a couple of weeks? Absolutely. The flu has an incubation time of 1- 2 days, the Noro virus only 0.5 – 2 days. And nowadays, with millions of people travelling around the world everyday a really serious infection could never bs stopped in time. Now H5N1 reached fatality rates up to 73%. And now imagine it mutates juuust a tiny bit more… Scared already?

  20. An apocalypse will start due to farting without a permission. Stinky life of our civilization had been presumed by the Maya people. When all farts will gather together a huge BING BANG occur giving the birth of a new world.

  21. Adelina says:

hey the fast and the ferious movie was great! and for all those harets that couldn’t handle some fake stuff go watch your chick flicks!!! cause man flix are all full of it(alien, rocky, rambo, indiana jones, batman ) need i go on. and all the old guys that they put up there saying i never seen that movie its because old guys don’t watch movies. THUMS UP IF YOU AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. Marino says:

In other words, since Hinn claims to have diivne healing power and prophetic extra-biblical revelations directly from God, he must be “God’s Anointed,” above any call to accountability for his financial manipulations or his heretical teachings. “Rather man be a liar and GOD BE TRUE!” Hinn is a liar.

  23. John says:

Yes, there is a Copyright, Katha. The judge felt the intention of the moevis were different. I believe the first focused on Black Hair Throughout History while Rock’s focuses more on dealing with changing the hair in the modern world. I do think it is clear, however, that without Rock viewing her documentary, he would not have made his and accepting that connection is powerful and important to divine ownership of the ideas.
