Did Cooking Make Us Human?
We are the only species on earth who cook their food – and also the smartest species on the planet.

The question is: Do we cook because you are intelligent and imaginative, intelligent and imaginative and we are because our ancestors discovered the kitchen?
Horizon examines the evidence that the diet of our ancestors and change their mastery of fire prompted anatomical and neurological changes that led to us out of the trees and in the kitchen.
Homo habilis was about a meter tall with long arms, swinging – not much to do, apparently, but smart. Habilis had a larger brain (50% larger) than its predecessor, Australopithecus. Was this to your diet?
Does cooking Make Us Human? , A handful of determined scientists set out to discover the extent to which diet plays an important role in the evolution of the human brain, using a variety of devices slightly alarming.
Professor Peter Ungar has a device he calls the Bitemaster 2, a chewing mechanical machine has been equipped with genuine Australopithecine gnashers.
For the first time in three million years left to work on a carrot, with remarkable success, considering.
In the raw meat that is made less skillfully, but the teeth of a human ancestor later – smaller, more acute, “Crestie” – made short work of it.
By the way, I would not get your finger caught in which, as Professor Ungar almost does. “Wait!” He yells to his fellow happy start button.

One thing is for sure, this “documentary” is completely unintressing, scientifically. It’s entertainment. Everyone who get their information about our evolution solely from this kind of source should read some litterature instead. This programme is rubisch.
At 52:00 … what else is in the drinks??? Is it just fat emulsified in water? What kind of fat? Are there sugars added for palatability? And she’s just looking at brain scans and making assumptions that correlations with brain activity and the feedings are causative–bad science.
They should have talked to Durianrider…
Point being… Yeah we can study the micro side of evolution and it seems we have it down pretty good…. Who the f*** is looking at the macro side of it? It’s obvious isn’t it? Look at the cycles of each new species, they are in equal intervals, suggesting a pattern of frequency… Pop a new species comes from somewhere… it doesnt micro its way to that point, no, then according to their own theory it would take hundreds of millions of years…
So Im in the first 10 minutes of this video and all I’ve seen is a conditioned mind telling us what they taught him at the university… Here’s the deal people, I’m going to let everyone in on the big secret of evolution. 1: Yes Darwin was right, if you take a lizard from the mainland and put it on an island, 40 – 100 years later itll change. 2: That is micro evolution. We will all experience Macro evolution, the end of this year, it is spontaneous. Believe what you want, but you’ll see.
why do you ask stupid questions
@TheToiletNuke yea they all are fat, i know, pretty much s*** in this documentary, but still interesiting at some parts
they should invite EpicMealTime
Are those all guys in the document FAT?
@bryanhardy7 After being vegetarian for so long how did primative man eat meat without Canines or Lateral Incisors, I thought herbivores teeth were flat ?
Poms cant survive more than 24 hours without mushy peas an soggy fish & chips XD
terrible science but interesting none the less
@KneelingAtlas Completely agree. Shockingly bad science. Also, being given bit by bit is obviously going to increase the rate of energy absorption per energy used…
Very interesting video, I will however contend that the snake study is junk science. Does it strike anyone else as obvious that the ground, cooked steak took 25% less energy to digest? Perhaps they hypothesized a whole, cooked steak wouldn’t have yielded the results they desired?
f****** vegans. :”D
Proof that bodies don’t just digest food, they evolve for it. You are what you eat.
@marcluc1988 All those diseases occur with over consumption and unbalanced consumption.Meat, eggs, milk are good for us, just as fruits and vegetables are good for us, all in moderation. There will be differences with different people as a matter environment and physical exertion factors. You sound like you’re on the diet cult path, in the vegan direction.Beware, and be in tune with what your body shows you by response to what you consume, your lifestyle, and your environment.

@ToolsnFire At the beginning, they claim that what we eat has made us what we are. Notice what they’re eating in that meal: Full of sugar, cholesterol, saturated fats etc. No fruit and veg. Yes! What we eat has made us what we are today: Obese, high risk of heart disease, cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes etc.
@8:00, they’re eating modern fruits and vegetables, not what our ancient species ancestors would’ve eaten, – so the experience of eating would’ve probably been even less enjoyable / more problematic.Yes, some raw proponents will say that the people here need a transitional cleansing period in order to make use of raw plant foods.Unfortunate this sort of in-depth expose wasn’t available back in the 70′s.Tools, making fire, controlling fire, cooking,…and many other things made us Homo sapiens
Oh sweet jesus the food closeups in the beginning.
