Bahrain: Shouting in the Dark
Bahrain: A kingdom of the island in the Persian Gulf, where the governing Shiite Muslim family by a Sunni minority.
Where people struggle for democratic rights broke down the barriers of fear, only to find himself alone and overwhelmed.
This is his story and Al Jazeera is your testimony – the only television journalists who were left to follow his path of hope to the slaughter that followed.
This is the Arab revolution was abandoned by the Arabs, the West abandoned and forgotten by the world.
On February 16, 2011 thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of Bahrain to protest the ruling Khalifa family.
Following protests in Tunisia and the revolution in Egypt, many felt that Bahrain, also was ready for reform. On 21 February, a quarter of the population of Bahrain took to the streets and gathered at the Pearl roundabout.

Thank you for this brave journalism. Peace and love to the people of Bahrain being so courageous. Keep up the good work. You will get your freedom! I will contact my elected officials here in the USA and share this info with friends and family.
Peace and Love to the peoples of Planet Earth. We all bleed red. We are all brothers and sisters.God created color, language, food, clothing as Beautiful as Poetry we are to cherish our differences and learn…not kill. The warmongers, the global elite, create chaos and put in many different armies within 1 country to de-stabilize it so they don’t know who is killing who. The warmongers need to be stopped. THOU SHALT NOT [intentionally] KILL. Is a universal law. God help us for Peace.
Peace and Love to Bahrain. Queen of England owns USA army and its 700+ world-wide military bases. USA army is hired by Queen of England, UN, NATO. Queen of England owns over 20 percent of planet earth’s land. King Abdullah is 2nd largest planet earth land owner. If those 2 would demand Peace, Planet Earth would have Peace. Those 2 are the problem….they are warmongers. British colonialism is still the largest land owner of Planet Earth.
Only one difference Bahrain is backed by UK and USA and there are thousands of Americans in Bahrain, US Navy, CIA and Dilpomats with all that is happening in front of them the US has abandoned people who thought the US was there to protect them.
WATCH their previous BAHRAIN docPeople & Power – Bahrain: Fighting for change Understand that between showing the two the first AJE betrayal happened AJE stopped covering BAHRAIN under orders of the Qatar Monarchy who finances them and is part of the Gulf strata as Saudi and Bahrain. Also that was the start of AJE owners getting cosy with Obama admin. In Libya and Syria they are now an arm of the US State Department. This wasa misguided strategy to get into the US market.
This is why the world needs to come together and try and convince the US public that we are wrong! Dangerously, deadly and terribly wrong. The US public lives off this type of horror: The Shah, Pinnocet in Chile, Noriega in Panama, Saddam for crying out loud… The US public is blind to our crimes and we are determined to commit more, even against ourselves. We can’t wake up ourselves, the world public has to figure something out, like it it not. War is no longer an option. Nonviolence or nonex
I am from a muslim country haha =) And I have ALOT of muslim friends (unfortunatly, cos I hate religion but love them..) And I consider myself to have a lot of knowledge about the middle east as region, I know more or less all the religios divisions – and do you think Im wrong?
Nice comment. But a few questions: how many Muslim countries have you been to? How many practicing Muslims have you gotten to know? Lastly, have you read extensively about the region? If not, then you’re comment might be a bit nearsighted and premature.
cant stand the “allah aqbar” thing in all these revolutions, why does “God” have to be involved, religions is the TRUE opposite of democracy, and do not try to tell me otherwise, religions has ALLWAYS stood between men and freedom, the purpose of religions is to inprison, control. For that reason I do not believe that any of these “revolutions” are democratic, rather they are PAN-Islamism… where arab states are reclaiming their islamic indentity, and all of a sudden we have a new Iran.
I don’t know. The truth is the “Arab Spring” was mostly an illusion created by wesetrn media and academia. The sunni salafists and muslim brotherhood are who’s being elected. These people would have elected a bunch of extremists sympathetic to Iran. I don’t see why the west or arab sunnis should support that.
I agree with you but what I think this video is trying to show is that the US will intervene in countries with “bad” dictators while completely ignoring others. This goes to show that the countries the US intervenes in are for the benefit of some political or corporate interest.
It is really didaster for those put themselves as human rights acctivists and did not participate to stop killing people by using forbidden arms. Hamad is criminal and we need to establish an international court for his crimes.

As a Sunni Pakistani I can say this: all Pakistani mercenaries who attacked protesters, you have betrayed Islam. Most of these people are anti-Shia bigots (not representative at all of the Pakistani people) who just look at sectarian differences and not at facts on the ground. Also, to suggest that Pakistan is trying to oppress this revolution is incorrect and ironic, considering the President of Pakistan is Shia! And Pakistan and Iran are allies too. People of Bahrain: We are with you!!!!
@000Doug000 you know, the majority of the Bahraini people are Shia Muslims. They have an Imam, called Imam Husayn! He is reported to have said: “I would rather die a death of dignity than live a life of humiliation”Until there is a republic in Bahrain, no one wants anything. Who wants to be “the next Singapore” when you as a person are worth 0!the lenient Al Wefaq claim to want to have a “constitutional monarchy”… I think they are too nice… No monarchy.. 100% republic, then signapore!
@Muhanna294 the truth that you must be slaves for the illegitimate killer of Bahraini majority????Well, let me tell you, what goes around comes around, and one day when those bloodthirsty dictators loose their support (from US and Saudi), then the people will take justice in their own hands… Wait for that day.. and you will see reality.
@MrBohlool If you really believe that you have only been told half the story. Honestly. Bahrain has the potential to be the next Singapore. Remove the agendas from both sides and focus on what is in the best interest of the people. That is what nobody on the opposition really cares about. You people outside of Bahrain say rights this rights that, but you are being led down a path. Last thing- Challabi in Iraq spoke of the same democratic movement, the same human rights movement. What happened?
SubhaanAllah im thinking what do these leaders get from killing innocents when they themself will die and have to face God for what they have done. The matter is injustice is injustice whether a sunni commits it or shia or anyother believe. The only thing that will stand after all this is God when he calls out”WHERE R UR DICTATORS THE KINGS AND LEADERS” no one will be able to say anything because that is the end of everything as we know it. Ask God for forgiveness LEADERS befor its too late.
Allahu Akbar, Long live the Bahraini Nation! May Allah bless every corner of Bahrain with freedom and democracy. May Allah curse the opressors and those who assisted them in their opression. Shias and Sunnis are brothers of one Islamic Ummah! Wa Sa Ya3lam aldheena Dhalamoo Ayya Munqalibin Yanqaliboon!!! Thankyou Al Jazeera for unveling the truth to the world!!
i am forwarding this to evrneoye i know (one of the IMPORTANT emails that should be read) in the past i have tried some of these methods and i know they are the best tool for more productivity but checking your email is like an addiction who emailed me, what’s going on etc. Perhaps i need a Emails Anononomis support group
what i do find is that i end up spending more time trying to figure the email out than actually fulfilling it. my rule of thumb if it’s more than one para i CALL the person (!!) and talk the issue or task over with them.thanks for a great post!
