Alien Insect: Praying Mantis

The film shows the world of a realistic alien: the praying mantis. This documentary demonstrates the life and behavior of the most intimidating and possibly scarcest representatives of the mantis family, as well as showcasing some species that has never been filmed before.

World-wide, there are some 2,200 species of this unusual insect family, many of them in the subtropical and steamy regions, a few in the moderate zones of the Old as the New World.

Anywhere they live and whatsoever their size, they share one ghastly feature: Every single mantis is a flawless killing machine, a live steel trap. Anything but prayerful, mantises prey on all that moves and can be overcome.
