A Machine to Die For: The Quest for Free Energy
While conventional Science asserts that an engine that can power itself is impossible to make, generations of inventors have been fascinated by the idea.
Machine to Die for is about the search for Perpetual motion and ‘free energy’. One of the reasons behind the spur in the interest in it apart from pollution issues is the diminishing world natural resources like fossil fuels and the world’s huge reliance on them for all its energy needs.
This documentary showcases the dedicated, obsessed and at times eccentric individuals, who are focused and fully committed to bring to life a device for producing ‘free energy’.
So detailed is the documentary that it could be used as a handy resource when motion and simple machines are studied, as well as by Science teachers of middle to senior secondary students. It serves to broaden the mind’s horizon to include discussions about inventors and inventions and the importance and evolution of scientific endeavors.

Many amazing minds not afraid to step outside the laws of physics, many amazing inventions and ideas, many little volt meters moving their little needles and many claims of free energy. Why do we never see videos of these ideas/inventions in action, actually generating workable energy and being used on everyday products. Ideas and clever twirly things are fantastic but can it iron my clothes, cook my food and run this computer. Let’s see some real action please.
Searl claims to have built and flown this thing in the past so what is stopping him now?He keeps talking & talking about it but why not build the dam thing? If you have seen the photos its a model on a string. Think about it, how did he fly & control this remotely in the 50s to a speed of 3500kph as he says? What electronics existed at the time to do this?He has shown the SEG generator for years but it never shown it to work. So why does anyone listen?
You don’t take into account that the reason people mock them is because many of them are nutcases, frauds or ignorant tinkerers who DO NOT engage in meticulous science, for example the guy at 13:55 who says “We have to give away free energy technology and we have to give away gravity control technology, that’s the only way that stuff’s gonna get out because there are so many interests that want to keep it quiet.”
Simple way to test, sun up or down, wind or not, if the wheel repeatedly starts from a dead stop then perpetual motion has been achieved. The sheer number of weights creates a smooth curve for the leverage change to create the motion. Just because you’re told you can’t do something doesn’t mean it can’t be done. Otherwise the world would still be flat and the americas wouldn’t be on any map.
Some of the ideas expressed her are a bit far out to say the least. Are they crazy? No idea but……… I know they firmly believe in what they are doing and maybe a bit obsessive, however I think they are harmless and in search of a personal dream. They aren’t hurting anyone and if it makes them happy, let them alone.
ppl are limited by the end of the books they read, they laws of physics are written by ppl who believe what they perceive, how can someone who’ve only been concious for 30 or 40 years explain something that been here even before time? they tell ppl without Ph.d’s what is and what isant as fact like anti-grav how do they kno wat it is wen they can’t even explain gravity? ppl must find their own answers and stop relying on others to make ur conclusion for u.
Regardless of there being energy all around us in the form of sunlight, gravitational waves, electrostatic/magnetic charges moving through the earth, it is not the aim of these machines. All that energy came from somewhere else, the universe will keep on having negative entropy everywhere until there comes a point in time when the universe reaches full entropy. These machines try to put out more energy than what is being put in, which will NEVER happen.
we have more energy than the world could ever use,we just need a way to capture it.the sun sends us plenty of energy, the earth is surrounded by magnetism. perpetual motion should be possible with out breaking the laws of physics.
Perpetual motion is impossible in a closed system. But we do not live ON a closed system!!!Solar panels, wind turbines, water turbines, Static noise on crystal radio’s all derive their energy from the Sun, either directly or indirectly.Even fossil fuels are because of the sun!Where does the energy from a radioactive substance actually come from? And why does the voltage on a PN-junction never go away?Hmmm… could this also be another form of interaction from our sun?
Static signals received by crystal radios are not being broadcast on……in other words it is drawing on energy that is everywhere. UV is a frequency….silicon crystals react to UV and charge a metal plate like tesla’s radiant energy generator did with oscillator coils, mica and a metal plate. Crystals resonate just like coils. Also, look up TACREG. Free Energy is already here and has been, the catch is its DIY.
The Universe proves perpetual motion indeed. Most of the free energy guys forget that for perpetual motion it will need to be done at the molecular level. However, free energy has already been proven….crystal radio anyone?
GRANTING that his claim is true, that the part of the wheel going down is always heavier than the part of the wheel going up. MAYBE the force exerted by that part of the wheel is enough or more than enough to overcome the overall friction.
Free energy is best found without moving parts. Radio, Gamma radiation, Ultraviolet Light, etc. The best free energy is already available, just costly to put into place. I think Radio would be a very good bet in future batteries. Oh, well, I guess we are still a hundred years behind in that too…hmmm, guess were stuck with burning fossil fuels for a few more decades (till it’s gone). The only other idea that the big companies can do stop the flow of innovation is massive depopulation.
@hopelessgravity without magnetic power, yes. With it? No. 2nd law of Thermodynamics fails to consider magnetic power, let alone try to measure it. You stay negative. You try to prove all things wrong-to what end? You stay negative-the only possible outcome. Tesla built an electric car in 1931, powered by an 80hp, 1800rpm motor-sans a power source aside from Earth’s Ether-it went 90mph. He could’ve powered the world-3 earthquakes show that’s true. I’ll stay + & power my home with his Generator.
@BrandonFound The few who DO catch the limelight soon also catch a bullet-or another form of death-to be ridiculed soundly, then have it stolen is their preferred method. Being superlatively Objective, it does not matter what one nor 1million “believe”-the facts have shown since Tesla that the Energy companies make too much money on dirty power to allow clean, over-unity power to be accepted. You probably think Oncologists are honest doctors who want to prolong their patients’ lives-LMAO!
Ok, I take back the comment about the man talking about the Russians bug wing platform as being the most nonsensical. I think it’s the old Canadian in the end… he’s going to use toothpicks… to hold part of it up? Could barely make out anything he was saying, and in the end he throws you a religious twist about god’s breath, not to mention that he knew were Saddam was hiding… lol Wow.
The idea that you have to have multiple PhDs to make discoveries is kind of silly. The discoverers of the past did all of these things without all of the pedigrees. If you know how to observe, experiment, make hypotheses and test them that’s all you need. Most of the people that mocking these guys are most likely pencil pushers that can’t even design a circuit.
I like when the old guy from the gym said “this machine is running off the gyroscopic particles of the atoms of this mass.” Excuse me, what the hell did you just say? I knew enough in 7th grade to say he’s just combining unrelated sciencey sounding terms.
This just makes it hard to take these guys seriously when they’re already having trouble catching lime-light. Don’t be so subjective. Not everyone believes the free market is a naughty oppressive villain. If a corporation felt unlimited energy was viable they’d be the first to invest and make it happen. Good luck making it happen without including the economy.
How did this nonsense get made? No one, including the token skeptics, shows any understanding of basic physics. The “researchers” are clearly either ignorant or mentally deranged, except Reidar Finsrud, who’s having a joke at our expense: his machine is powered by the three electromagnets above the rail (you can see one of them bob as it switches on and off when the ball passes underneath) connected to a battery hidden in the central column. The pendulums are just for show.
I would like the DVD of Viscount Monckton’s 1.5 hour address. It was a fine armgrpmoe. Truly, a CORKING job, Lord Monckton goring Al Gore upon the horns of Scientific Data. Unfortunately Al Gore and his minions are hell-bent to lie to people, by implementing, Weapons of Mass DISTRACTION
Pamela August 25, 2011 I’ve missed radeing your blog! I was on vacation! I definitely want to try the oats in a jar.. what a way to anticipate the end of a peanut butter jar! LOLIn response to your question, I always make my own concoctions.. that’s the most fun thing to do in the kitchen! And I was thinking, when you were listing out your ingredients (which, your breakfast burrito sounds like something totally yummy and very familiar to something I would make) I was thinking of Migas . You should try it sometime, I think it’s Mexican, and you use up leftover tortillas or even tortilla chips with eggs and other ingredients for breakfast.. it’s really good!
